Double Ring Ceremony

On September 5, 1964, at 11 a.m. St. Michael’s Church at Wilmot was the scene of the wedding of Miss Sherilynn McLaughlin, daughter of Harold McLaughlin to Gary A. Koester, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Koester of Sandusky. Rev. Raymond Pilarski officiated at the double ring ceremony.

Miss Patricia McLaughlin, sister of the bride was maid of honor.

Mrs. Mertle Koester, sister in law of the groom, Miss Judy Brown and Miss Elaine Baldino of Lansing, friends of the bride were bridesmaids.

Janette Vanderpool, niece of the bride, was flower girl.

Charles McLauglin, brother of the bride was ringbearer.

Michael Koester of Sandusky was his brother’s best man, and James Slieff, a brother in law of the bride of Lapeer, Rick Burtles, cousin of the groom of Carsonville, and Gordon Knowles, friend of the groom of Caro were groomsmen.

Michael McLaughlin, Lee McLauglin and Ron Burtles were Ushers.

Mrs. Nancy Bussure was organist and Miss Barbara Olesky assisted in singing the mass and hymns.

Upon their return from the Upper Peninsula, they will make their home in Saginaw where the groom is employed by the U.S. Postal Dept. The bride is working in a beauty salon in Saginaw.

Pre nuptial showers were given for the bride by Mrs. Burtles of Carsonville, Mrs. Vanderpool, and Miss McLaughlin of Kingston and Miss Judy Brown and Miss Elane Baldino of Lansing.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Horak and daughter Judy of Jefferson City, Missouri are spending some time with Mr. and Mrs. Harland Legg and sons.

Mr. and Mrs. Harland Legg and Mr. and Mrs. Walter horak and Judy spent Monday at Niagara Fall.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fortier of Lake City are spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons and Mr. Wm. D’Arcy.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Guilliland were Sunday callers at the Audrey Frederick home in Cass City.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rassette and family of Linwood spent a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rassette.

Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fortier, and Mr. Wm. D’Arcy were Sunday callers at the Frank D’Arcy home.

Guests of Mrs. Loie Evans were Mr. and Mrs. Francis Van Horn of Deford, Mrs. Crandall of Buffalo, New York and Mrs. Bernice Miller of Saginaw who spent 3 days with her.

Miss Mary Lanna Kramer returned Wednesday to Ashbury College, Wilmore, Kentucky for her sophomore year.

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ellis visited the Leo Legg home Friday, enroute to Bay City from where they will leave Wednesday for their home in Pasadena, California.

Mrs. Bruce Ruggles, Mrs. Nellie Cooper, Mrs. Rudolph Walk and Mrs. Eldon Bruce of Deford are attending the Farm Bureau Women’s District meeting at Camp Kett this week.

Karen Bilicki, Jane Ross, Terry Miller and Curt Legg left Sunday for Michigan State to begin their studies.

Mr. and Mrs. W. White and Mrs. Jessie Striech of Howell were Saturday luncheon guests of the Froedes. Mrs. Streich stayed for a visit.

Mrs. Clayton Hunter is a patient at Cass City Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fox Sr. were guests at the Froede home Saturday night.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Milford and daughters were Sunday guests at the Froede home.
