Announces Engagement

Mr. and Mrs. Paul T. Shafer of Bancroft, Michigan announces the engagement of their daughter Martha to Richard P. Dean. Richard is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Raymond Dean of Kingston. Miss Martha Shafer is a graduate of Durand High School and the Lansing Community College School of Nursing. Richard Dean graduated from Cros-Lex High School and attended Owosso College. A mid-summer wedding is planned.

SOCIAL NEWS

Mr. and Mrs. Gerold Geror and Sherry of Pontiac, Mrs. R. L. Dafoe of Warren, Mr. and Mrs. Emerson McIntyre and children of Owosso and Mrs. Wiswell enjoyed Easter dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moore.

Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Poissant and family and Mrs. Ann Poissant of Detroit were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rassette. Miss Mary Rassette of Mt. Pleasant has visited her parents during the Easter vacation.

The Misses Carolyn, Joyce, and Katherine Quiel, Ann, Marle, Elizabeth and Diane Catlin are spending the week with their grandmother, Mrs. Ernest Torongeau while their grandfather is in the hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sullivan and children of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Marie Goodwin of Royal Oak were Easter dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wenzlaff.

Miss Beverly Everett returned to Spring Arbor after spending 10 days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Everett.

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ensign and family spent Sunday with her mother Mrs. Everett Rich, Maxine and Patsy.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Benfield of Saginaw called on relatives here Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. James Caswell, Art and Alice Steele spent the weekend at their cabin. They were joined on Sunday by Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Steele and Tammy, Jim and Brian Froede.

Janet Jeffery had a tonsillectomy at the Marlette Hospital Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Everett and Beverly, Mrs. Hazel Wilmot, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Allen Annette and Dale spent Easter with Mr. and Mrs. Dean Boyne in Leonard.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Quiel and family of Taylor, Mr. & Mrs. Donald Janneck and family and Mrs. Audrey Catlin and children enjoyed the Easter Holiday with their mother, Mrs. Earnest Torongeau.

Recent guests at the J. M. Burmeister home were Mrs. Nellie Churchill of Port Huron, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Burmeister and children of Auburn Heights.

Mr. and Mrs. Woody Mouser of Pontiac visited her father, Mr. George Beech during the weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. Glen Van Wagoner also Mr. and Mrs. John Burmeister enjoyed Easter Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gould & Glenna of Caro.

Mrs. Hazel Ashcroft of Pontiac and Mrs. Shirley Vincent & Kirk of Auburn Heights visited Mr. and Mrs. Dale Clement over the weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. Leland Ensign spent the weekend at their cabin near Gladwin.

Mr. and Mrs. George Parker and Children of Horton, Mr. and Mrs. James Jersey of Grand Ledge, Mr. James Parker and children and Mrs. Hazel Parker enjoyed Easter with Mr. and Mrs. Dale Clement and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Parker and children spent Easter with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shobert Jr.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Weeden and 2 sons of Algonac visited Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Evans and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Schrader on Mon.

Karen and Lynn Bilicki are spending the Easter vacation with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Bilicki.

Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Randall have moved to their recently purchased home in Deford.

Mr. and Mrs. Venard Stark, Michael and Alisa Joy of Mt Pleasant were weekend guests of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Kramer. Alisha Joy was christened at the Easter Services at the Methodist Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Legg called on Mr. and Mrs. Rene Shields Wednesday evening.

Easter dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Kramer and Joy were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Legg, Miss Janet Jickling of Saginaw, Rodney and Doug Kramer of Mt. Pleasant.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schons, Peggy and Mike of Clarkston spent Easter with Mr. and Mrs. Leland Van Horn.

Mr. Loftis Wiswell of Detroit spent Friday with his mother Mrs. Wiswell at the Arnold Moore home.
