White Creek Floral Club
Thursday, April 13, 1967, the White Creek Floral
Club met at the home of Mr and Mrs Ernest Cargill for dinner served by the hostess and
Mrs. Arthur Harneck. A large crowd was in attendance and enjoyed the hospitality extended
by the host and hostess.
Mrs. Irl Coltson presided at the meeting and plans were made to
paint the Club House and make other improvements. The Card Parties will be continued for
some time.
Mrs Pat Cannon was honored on heer birthday with the "Happy
Birthday" song and a gift from her friends. Several Get Well cards were signed by the
group to be mailed to members and friends who are ill at this time. These included Jennie
Coan, amd Mr. Birthelmer in Florida, Mrs Williams at Marlette and Mrs. Langmaid at Decker.
Games were in charge of Vera Cannon and Myra Burmeister. Everyone
won one of more of the prize. The next meeting will be held May 11th with Mrs.
Don Darling. Co-hostess will be Mrs. Ethel Seddon. Recreation committee is Nellie Williams
and Lottie Langmaid.

Only 17% Voted
In the election on Monday, April 17, regarding the 11/2 mills for
the purpose of general operation in Tuscola County a total of only 3,215 votes were cast
or approximately 17 per- cent of all registered voters in Tuscola County cared enough to
go to the polls and vote.
Of those cast there were 2,427 against and 788 for the proposition.
By townships around Kingston they are as follows: Koylton 23 yes,
54 no; Well 14 yes, 45 no; Novesta 11 yes 70 no; Dayton 12 yes and 49 no and Kingston 28
yes 96 no. |

Born to Mr and Mrs Paul Torongeau of Taylor on Monday, April 17th,
a baby boy. He weighed 8 pounds, 8 ozs. Grandparents are Mr and Mrs Leo Weslowski of
Decker and Mr and Mrs Ernest Torongeau of Kingston and a great grandmother Mrs John
Lewicki of Marlette. |

CLEAN UP WEEK
President Kaminski designates the first week of May as "Clean
Up Week." The following committees were appointed to see that the campaign is carried
out successfully. |

Birthday Gathering
Mrs Elnora Lang and daughter of Farmington, Mr and Mrs Dillis
Walker and family from Drayton Plains, Mr and Mrs Laverne Walker of Union Lake, Mr and Mrs
David Walker, Jr, of Hadley, Mr and Mrs Davide Walker, Sr, and Nancy of Ortonville, Mr and
Mrs Ralph Hall and son of Goodrich, Mr and Mrs Gordon Walker and Fred of Caro came to help
their mother and grandmother celebrate her birthday with a big dinner Sunday. They were
joined in the afternoonby Mr and Mrs Bert Mahaffy of Brown City. |

Thumb Area Party
A giant Thumb Area Party sponsored by the Campus Life, will begin
at the Marlette Kroger Store parking lot at 7:00 p.m. this Saturday, April 22.
Bug Races (Volkswagons) and a Club Fair will be the two main
features of the evening. Seventeen high school clubs are building booths for the fair and
decorating bugs for the races.
The party is geared to all Junior and High School students. |

PURELY LOCAL
Mr and Mrs George Burmeister of Mt. Clemens were guests on Sunday
aat the home of his brother John M. Burmeister. Mr and Mrs Donald Gould of Caro called in
the afternoon.
Ed Henderson who is with the United States Air Force is spending
some time with his parents while home on furlough.
Miss Glenna Gould was the week end guest at the home of her
grandparents Mr and Mrs Glen Van Wagoner.
Mr and Mrs Alton Lyons were in Croswell Sunday evening and attended
church services where their son Rev. Wm Lyons is pastor.
Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Fred Neal were Mr and Mrs Archie
Rodenbo and Mary of Auburn Heights and Mr and Mrs R. D. Green and family of Clifford. The
dinner honored Mr. Neal on his birthday.
Mr and Mrs Albert Denhoff and family were Sunday dinner guests of
herparents Mr. and Mrs John Richter in Saginaw.
Mr and Mrs Jack Linahan of Detroit were Saturday visitors of Mr and
Mrs Eugene Rassette.
Mr and Mrs Pat Miller of Centerline spent the week end at their
farm on South White Creek Road.
Mr and Mrs Jack Predmore of Detroit called on relatives in the
vicinity Wednesday. |

INDUSTRIAL ARTS PROJECTS ON DISPLAY IN
HARMONS
The Industrial Arts Class of Kingston Community Schools under the
direction of Mr Lee Burmeister has a fine display of their work in the window at
Harmons Furniture Store.
On display are chests of drawers, jewelry, boxes, barbecue tools
and other items. All of these were made by the students.
There are also diagrams of pieces of furniture drawn by the
students. When you are in town take the time to look over this work and see what the
Industrial Arts students are capable of doing.
We would like to take this opportunity to commend the students and
their instructor Mr. Burmeister for such a nice job and for the opportunity of being able
to see these items. |

2nd Series for Clinic
The second of the monthly series of immunization clinics for the
Thumb District Health Department
Is to be held on Wednesday, April 26th, with the
cooperation of the Tuscola Co, Medical Society.
The location of the clinic will be at the Caro office, 147 W.
Lincoln St, next to the Detroit Edison. The hours of the clinic service are from 1 to 3
p.m. |

ON DEANS LIST
Beverly Everett, daughter of Mr and Mrs Carlyle Everett of E.
Sanilac Rd, Kingston has been named to the Deans List this term with a 3.38. She is
a Junior at Spring Arbor College and has an over all average of 2.99. Beverly has a double
major. One in English and one in Social Science. |

Observe 25th Wedding Anniversary
Saturday evening Mr and Mrs Raymond Allen celebrated their 25th
Wedding Anniversary at a family gathering in their home. Several guests were present and
they received many lovely gifts.
A luncheon was served with a beautiful anniversary cake baked by
Mrs Jim Barrons, a sister of Mrs. Allen. |
