Tourist Council.

requests for the Councils summer vacation planning information are running more than
30 per cent ahead of the same period last year.
"If this trend continues, and we are confident it will, we
expect that a record number of persons will vacation in Michigan this summer, " Hall
said.
"A big bonus for Michigan will be the large number of persons
vacationing in Michigan enroute to Expo 67 in Mon - Inquiries from these people have
exceeded expectations.

SPENCER STORY
State Representative Roy Spencer of Attica has
introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives that would require the Department
of Administration to fully comply with the state law requiring state vehicles to bear the
state decal. Spencer said if the law that is currently on the books were fully carried out
we would have little trouble identifying and keeping trace of state owned vehicles.
Spencers resolution was the product of complaints of misuse of state cars. At least
with state decals on them, we would have a good idea of when state cars were being used
for private business, Spencer said.
The resolution calls for all state-owned cars, other than those
used by the Detective Division of the State Police to display 12 inch decals of the state
seal on center and left doors by July 1 of this year. In addition, three inch high letters
spelling out, "For Official Use Only." Would be marked on both side and rear of
the cars. |
