Kingston News Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hurshburger Sr., spent Monday evening with her son Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hurshburger, Jr. in Bay City to celebrate his birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons and Mrs. George Hampshire attended the wedding of Richard Dean in Owosso Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hackel, Mrs. Martha Hackel, Mrs. R. J. Gilmore, and Kelli Jo, Mrs. Leo Reamer of Caro, and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schemers of Vassar attended the wedding and reception of Miss Linda Cook and Mr. Michael Knight at Pontiac Friday evening. Miss Cook is the daughter of Mr. Dale Cook and Mrs. Richard Davies. Mr. and Mrs. James Everett, Debbie and Fisk Everett of Bay City and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Everett of Oxford were Saturday visitors of Mrs. Vernon Everett and attended the Everett-Klein wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Coltson of Rochester spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Taylor. They also visited Mrs. Vernon Everett. Mr. and Mrs. Orrie Cattran of Lancaster, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. James Cattran, Milford Center, Ohio, visited relatives here over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Hudson of Gladwin spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grieve and family. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Kramer returned home Friday from visiting their son, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kramer in Florida. He is improving slowly and expects to enter the hospital again at the end of the month for an operation on one arm. Mr. and Mrs. James Caswell, Alice and Art Steele entertained Mr. and Mrs. Leland Ensign. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brooks of Pontiac, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ensign of Marlette and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Steele and Tammy for Sunday dinner.

NEWS Mrs. James Jersey of Grand Ledge is spending a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Clement. Mr. James Klein of Holland and Larry Ort of Spring Arbor spent Friday night with Mrs. Hazel Wilmot. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Cannon, Mrs. Andrew Birthelmer and Mrs. Blenda Fulford called on Mrs. Dorothy Lee at the Fisher Convalescent Home in Mayville Sunday. Mrs. R. L. Dafoe of Warren spent the weekend with her mother Mrs. Wiswell. Mrs. Richard Wynn and children of Battle Creek spent a few days her parents Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moore. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brooks of Pontiac spent the weekend with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Leland Ensign. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Vanderberg of Detroit visited her sister Mrs. Hazel Wilmot Saturday and attended the Everett-Klein wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal and Mr. and Mrs. John Richter of Saginaw returned home Sunday after spending a few days at Interlochen and Traverse City. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley A. Hartt of Wilmot were hosts this weekend for their daughter Mrs. Genevieve Klott of Grand Rapids, and their three grandsons and guests. Mr. and Mrs. David R. Jenkins of Grand Rapids, their two daughters Tammi and Terri were accompanied by Dan Jenkins and Sue Hymes both of Grand Rapids. Brent Jenkins of Kalamazoo and Carol Osburn of Dallas, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hurshburger Sr, were Thursday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Fields of Deford. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Greenleaf of Clawson called Mrs Etta Stoner and Mrs Brenda Fulford Sunday evening.

COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS A regular meeting of the Kingston Common Council was called to order by President Edward Kaminski, at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Rooms on August 5, 1968 with the following members present: Barrons, Cameron, Mrs. Lalko, and Peter The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mr. Robert Phillips and Mr. James Mallory were before the Village Council in regards to a sewage problem on Linden St.. They are going to see that the problem is cleared up. Mr. Eldon W. Hackel was before the Council in regards to improper placing of trash at curbs. He was informed by the council to pick up only that is in metal or plastic containers. He also filed a complaint against the fire department. This is going to be taken up with the fire committee and action taken by them. Stanley and Arnold Moore were before the council in regards to the sidewalk in front of the station. Mrs. Lalko moved that the council co-operate with the Moores for suitable replacement of the sidewalk in front of the station. This was supported by Barrons. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. Southeastern Michigan Gas Company was before the council to present is plans to bring natural gas to the Village of Kingston. Moved by Peter, supported by Barrons to accept the proposal as presented by Southeastern Michigan Gas Company with any changes as co-ordinated by our street committee as might be necessary in the future. Ayes All, Nays 0. Motion carried. Bills were referred to the Audit Committee, moved by Mrs. Lalko, supported by Cameron that the bills be allowed and orders be drawn for same. Ayes All, Nays 0. Motion Carried. The mail was read and placed on file. Moved by Peter, supported by Cameron to accept the building permit of Edward Kaminiski for repairing the roof and garage door on garage behind store. Ayes All, Nays 0. Motion carried. Moved by Peter, supported by Cameron to accept building permit of Raymond Allen for remodeling porch and aluminum siding on home. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried.
