Married at St. Michael’s

On July 6, 1968 a Nuptial Mass for Karen A. Bilicki and Gareth H. Smith was offered by Father Eugene Susalla in Saint Michael’s Church of Wilmot, Kingston.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bilicki of Deford, Michigan. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Smith from Homer, Michigan.

The bride wore a white floor length grown with daisy lace trim on the neckline and hem. Her headpiece was of matching lace with a veil that reached to the floor. She carried a bouquet of white roses and carnations with blue baby’s breath.

Miss Lynn Bilicki was her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Jane Ross of Caro, and Miss Lyn Armstrong of Allen Park. Miss Jane Bilicki, sister of the bride, and Miss Diane Asher of Cass City, a cousin of the bride, were junior bridesmaids. The girls all wore sleeveless linen dresses in a light shade of blue. Their headpieces were matching bows with veils.

Dean Kranz of Lansing was best man. Groomsmen were Donald Smith of Whitmore Lake and John Andrews of Homer, Michigan.

Ushers were Edward Bilicki from Deford, and Barry Brown from Lansing.

An afternoon reception was held at Dom Polski Hall in Caro, Michigan.

Following a southern trip through the Smokey Mountains, the couple will reside in Michigan City, Indiana.

Attends Baby Shower

Mrs. Lloyd Spear, daughter Sue, Mrs. Glen VanWagoner and Mrs. J. M. Burmeister enjoyed a Baby Shower party given by Mrs. Harry McDonald and Mrs. Carl Miller at the Trailer Court near Marlette on Friday evening. There were twenty-five guests to greet Tamara Jo Pasek, recently adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Pasek.

Local & Social

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hartt of Wilmot and their daughter, Mrs. Frank Klott of Grand Rapids spent Tuesday in West Branch visiting Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Howey. On Thursday they spent the day with Mrs. Althea Hawkins in Marshall, Michigan formerly of Wilmot.

Mrs. Harland Legg and Curt returned home Friday evening after spending two weeks with relatives & friends in Missouri. Miss Sue Reynolds came with them for the weekend.

Mrs. Eugene Rassette spent a few days in Detroit with her children and saw her new grand son, Andre Francis Poissant.

Mr. and Mrs Roy Grover (Pearl Whittaker) of Auburn Heights called on Mrs. Hazel Parker while she was at the Parker cabin near Roscommon.

Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Grindley of Owosso, Ellen Moore and Carol Rayl returned from spending a couple of weeks in northern New York State. While there they visited the Thousand Islands.

Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. McCool and Dick were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Moore and Wayne, Janet Harneck, Mr. and Mrs Standly Enderable and Dwight of Bad Axe, Mr. and Mrs Dean Rockwell of Marlette, Mr. and Mrs. Etsel Wilcox, Deford, Linda Lester, and Mrs. Bob Lester of Kingston.

Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Burmeister were Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Burmeister of Orion, Mrs. Lloyd Spear and Donald, Mrs. Roland Warner, Mr. and Mrs. Wujcikowskis and daughter Christine of Vassar. Guests of the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Burmeister, John Samuel & Beth of Auburn Heights.

Mrs. Earl McTavish of Marlette and Mrs. Eric Dyer, Chris and Todd of Lansing were Tuesday evening guests at the Leo Legg home.

Jennie Coan of Flint and James Coan of Kingston were last Thursday guests at the home of their niece and family, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Latesky of Birch Run. The occasion was to celebrate their sister, Mrs. Hazel Michler’s birthday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Torongeau left Sunday afternoon to visit in Taylor, Michigan and left Monday to make their home in Florida in hopes of improving Mr. Torongeau health.

Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Kramer were Saturday evening and Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs.Ven Stark of Saginaw.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Tong of Detroit are visiting at the Leland Ensign home, Saturday all called on Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Thorp at Reese. The ladies are sisters.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hansen of Zephyrhills, Florida were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hartt on Wednesday.

Bonnie Coan of Pontiac spent Monday with her father James Coan.

Mr. and Mrs. James Jersey of Grand Ledge brought Mr. Hazel Parker home from her cabin Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. James Cattran of Milford Center, Ohio spent the week with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Everett.

Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Grindley of Owosso spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Moore and Ellen.

Mr. and Mrs. James Caswell and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Howell and Erin of Reese spent Sunday at the Caswell cottage near Gladwin.

Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Green and family of Lake Orion spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal.

Mrs. Hazel Wilmot was a Sunday evening guest of Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Carlyle Everett.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Knight, Bill, Nancy and Robin Cojacari of Detroit were Sunday callers of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Ensign.

Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal were Mr. and Mrs. John Richter, Mr. and Mrs. John Rose and family of Saginaw, Mr. and Mrs. George Arnett of Millington and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Denhoff and family.
