Ruggles Have Family Gathering Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ruggles and family entertained a family gathering at a pot luck dinner Sun. August 25. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ruggles, Caro; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kennedy, Saginaw; Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Miller and family of Alma, Mrs. John Sichta and family, Royal Oak; Mr. and Mrs. Keith Green and family, Caro; Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Ruggles and family Minneapolis, Minn; Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Ruggles, Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Ruggles, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ruggles and family of Kingston.

BIRTHS Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Bass of Cass City are the proud parents of twins born Tuesday August 13 at Hill and Dale Hospital. Michael Martin weighed 6 lbs, 13 oz, and Michele Marlene 5 lbs, 8 oz. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bass of Kingston and Mrs. Marie McGee of Elkton. Mr. Thomas Bass of Kingston is the great grandfather. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Barrons of Caro are the proud parents of a daughter born August 21, 1968. Grandmother is Mr. Geneith Barrons and great grandmother is Mrs. Robert Plane.

Local and Social Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Ruggles and family spent the week with Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Ruggles, there were enroute from Scotia N.Y. to their new home in Minneapolis, Minnesota where Clayton will be a supervisor for controlled Data Corporation. Mrs. Robert J. Moore and Mr and Mrs. David Alexander and children of Mt. Morris were callers Wednesday at the Raymond Moore residence. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Moore and Ellen spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Grindley in Owosso. Ellen is staying for a few days visit with her sister. Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons visited their son Rev. and Mrs. Wm. Lyons and family in Pontiac Sunday. They called on their granddaughter who is in St. Joseph Hospital with a badly broken elbow. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lalko and family spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sullivan and family in New Haven. Miss Susan Lalko returned home with her parents after visiting Tina Kitts a few days. On their way home they called on Mr. and Mrs. Donald Powell & family of Lum. Mrs. Edna Malcom of Deford, and Mrs. Nellie Martin of Caro were Wednesday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons. Miss Mary Rassette of Mt. Pleasant is spending the week with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rassette. Mrs. Leo Legg and Joy Kramer called on Mrs. Ethel Annin and Mrs. Dorothy Lee at the Memorial Wing of the Marlette Hospital last Friday. Sharon Daudel and son, Mike, and Dolly Silvernail visited Mr. and Mrs. Gary Silvernail in E. Lansing Friday and Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Graham were callers at the Bruce Ruggles home on Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Markhart and family of Reese were Sunday callers at the James Caswell home. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Tong, Linda, Lydia, and Lisa were Sunday visitors at the Leland Ensign home. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Kramer and Joy were Sunday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Vernard Stark and family in Saginaw. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Weschel and Mrs. Kay Dulac of Keego Harbor spend Friday at Mrs. Dulacs home here. Mr. and Mrs. John Graham were callers at the Fred and Albert Ruggles home Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Robert James & Rhonda of Mt. Pleasant, granddaugther of Mrs. Buelah France spent Sunday with her.

| COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
A special meeting of the Kingston Common Council was called to order by President Edward Kaminski at 7:45 P.M. in the Council Rooms on August 19, 1968 with the following members present: Barrons, Cameron, Peter, and Mrs. Lalko. Attorney William Drillock was present. Moved by Peter, supported by Cameon that the Village Council request the Planning Committee to hold a public hearing on the proposed Planning and Zoning Ordinances and make their recommendations to the Council. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. Moved by Cameron, supported by Barrons that Article 40 of Chapter 8001 Building Code be amended as follows: 40. FEE SCHEDULE. For each building permit issued, the following fees shall be paid to the Building inspector and no permit shall valid until the required fee has been paid: For the first $50.00 of cost of part thereof $1.00 For $50.00-$500.00 of cost of part thereof $2.00 For $501.00-$1000.00 or cost of part thereof 3.00 For each additional $1000.00 or cost of part thereof $1.00. There is to be a maximum charge of $50.00. In the event a building permit is not issued the fee so paid shall be returned to the payor thereof. This Ordinance takes immediate effect. Ayes- All, Nays 0, motion carried. Moved by Mrs. Lalko, supported by Cameron to accept the building permit of Leland Ensign to repair wall and replace part of roof on house on State Street. Ayes - All, Nays 0, motion carried. Moved by Mrs. Lalko, supported by Cameron to accept the building permit of Theodore Gilmanto put aluminum siding on his home. Ayes All, Nays 0 motion carred. Moved by Mrs. Lalko, supported by Cameron to accept the building permit of Leslie Nelson to replace old garage doors. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried.
