Clifford February 14, 1913

The Sanilac Quarterly Meeting convened with the Clifford Church. Meeting called to order by the clerk at 2:30 p.m. On motion Bro. Slough of Marlette was elected chairman of the meeting. The conference was opened by singing hymn number 31 with prayer by Bro. Sutphen, Bro. King and Bro. Kirby. Singing hymn number 54, reading scripture and prayer by Bro. J. F. Thompson. Under the order of business the minutes of the last meeting was read and approved. Letters read from the following churches, vis, Clifford, North Branch, Novesta, Kingston and Freemont.

On motion it was voted that the chair appoint the committees which is as follows. Business committee Bro J. F. Thompson, Blackmer and Sister Evens. The Locating committee Bro. E. Ervin, Bro. Townsend, and Bro. Bell. Pulpit committee for the next term Bro. Jess King. On motion it was voted that the Locating committee reported the next Quarterly meeting to be held at North Branch. On motion it was voted that the report be lade on the table till tomorrow morning. The matter of the ten cent was taken up and talked over pro and con. On motion it was voted to lay it on the table till tomorrow morning. Nothing farther the meeting changed to testimony meeting. Meeting adjourned to the call of the chair by singing. Friday evening 7:30 prayer and praise service led by Bro. J. F. Thompson at 8 p.m. Preaching by Bro. E. Sutphen.

Saturday February 15, 1913

9:30 a.m. conference called to order by the chair. Meeting opened by a few moments of silent prayer. Then prayer by Bro. J. H. Swailes, singing hymn 59, reading scripture 12 Mark, followed by several short prayers, singing hymn 60. The meeting was turned over to the Woman Mission society. Called to order by Sister Ross of Kingston. Opened by singing and reading scripture lessons with prayer by Bro. Slough. Under the order of business Sister Cornwell was elected on the Pulpit committee for the next term. Prayer by Sister Tibbles. Meeting adjourned at 11 a.m. Preaching by Bro. Schlabbaugh.

At 2:30 p.m. meeting called to order by the chair with singing. The matter of the Quarterly Meeting was taken up and explained. On motion it was voted that the Q. M. be held at Watertown. The question of the ten cents tax was taken up and discussed and voted to continue the tax. Adjourned.

3 p.m. Covenant meeting led by Bro. J. H. Swailes. The Lord’s Supper administered by Bro. Thompson and Sutphen. At 7 p.m. prayer and praise service led by Bro. J. H. Thompson. 7:30 p.m. Preaching by Bro. Harper Evangelist followed by testimony meeting with four at the alter for prayer.

Sunday 10:30 preaching by Bro. Thompson. 2:30 p.m. Young People’s meeting with good Program. At 7 p.m. Prayer and Praise service by Bro. Slough. 8 p.m. preaching by Bro. Schlabbough of Elkton followed by testimony meeting. Collection $5.14.

Watertown, May 16, 1913

The Sanilac Quarterly Meeting convened with the Watetown church at 2:30 p.m. Called to order by the clerk.

On motion Bro. Sutphen was elected chairman and opened the meeting by singing ad reading the 8 chapter of Romans with prayer by Bro. Sutphen. Under the order of business the minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Letters read from the following churches, Watertown, Kingston, North Branch, Novesta, and Clifford. Bro. McWilliams was appointed assistant chairman. The chair then appointed a business committee consisting of Bro. Wm. Cornwell, McConel and Johnson. The locating of the Quarterly Meeting was left with the business committee.

On motion it was voted to leave the election of clerk and treasurer until tomorrow morning. Motion to adjourn to the call of the chair with prayer by Bro. Balldon.

Friday evening preaching by Bro. Sutphen. Saturday 10 a.m. conference call to order by the chair. Meeting opened by singing and reading scripture lesson. With prayer by Bro. Sanderson and others. On motion it was voted that Bro. J. H. Swailes be clerk and treasurer for the coming year. The Locating committee reported that the Quarterly Meeting be held at North Branch. On motion it was voted that Sister Ethel McKellop be Pulpit committee for next time.

On motion it was voted that the Sunday collection be given to Sister Abbey of Elkton. The report of the treasurer was read and approved.

On motion it was voted that the Quarterly Meeting give Sister Williams and Sister Abbey the sum of fifteen dollars to each of them.

On motion it was voted to adjourn with prayer by Bro. Balldon.

11 a.m. preaching by Bro. Sutphen. Opening prayer by Sister McCanal. Singing hymn 306, reading scripture lesson 11 chapter of 2nd Corinthians.

At 2:30 p.m. a general Covenant meeting led by Bro. J. H. Swailes followed by the Lord’s Supper by Bro. Osborn and Willerton. 7:30 p.m. preaching by Bro. Osborn. Sunday 10:30 a.m. preaching by Bro. John Willerton of Novesta and at 2:30 p.m. preaching by Bro. Sutphen of Kingston. Then at 7:30 p.m. preaching by Bro. A. Osborn of Melvin. Collection $12.16.

North Branch, August 15, 1913

The Sanilac Quarterly meeting convened with the North Branch church at 2:30 p.m. Meeting called to order by Bro. William Swailes who was elected clerk pro tem in the absence of the clerk. On motion Bro. J. F. Thompson was elected chairman and opened the meeting by prayer by Bro. Sutphen, King and Alen. Singing hymn "Jesus Lover of My Soul."

Minutes of last meeting read and approved. Letters read from Kingston, Novesta, Clifford, and North Branch churches. Pulpit committee Bro. T. F. Thompson, Ethel McKellop, Elmer Alen. On motion it was voted that the chair appoint the committees. Business committee, Bro. Sutphen, King and Sister Evens. Locating committee Bro. Elisha Alen, Calkins, and Sister Chase.

On motion it was voted that the Sunday morning collection be given to Sister Williams and the Sunday evening collection be given to the North Branch Church to apply on furnishings. Moved to adjourn to the call of the chair. Friday evening preaching by Bro. Jessie Kings followed by Fellowship meeting assisted by Bro. B. E. Allen and Bro. Hare of the other churches.

Saturday, August 16, 1913, meeting called at 9:30 a.m. Praise service led by Bro. Elmer Alen, Hymn 308, Prayer Hymn number 329, testimony meeting. 10:15 business meeting. Minutes read and approved. On motion it was voted that Bro. J. T. Thompson be a delegate to the Michigan Association and Bro. Williams Swailes, corresponding delegate to the Oxford Quarterly Meeting. A report was given by Bro. Harper of the Genesee Quarterly Meeting. The Location committee report the next Quarterly Meeting to be held wti the Novesta church.

11:30 a.m. The Woman’s Missionary Society was called to order to transact business. At 11:30 a.m. Preaching by Bro. Hare of the P.M. church. At 2:30 p.m. a general Covernant meeting was led by Bro. Harper of Mayville, after which the Lord’s Supper was administered. At 5 o’clock a business meeting was held and Bro. Sutphen presented the matter of Bro. Jessie King’s examination. Moved by Bro. Sutphen that the clerk be instructed to write Bro. Myers in regard to Bro. Jessie King’s License papers. Moved by Bro. Alen the clerk be instructed to publish the notice of the Quarterly Meeting in the denominational paper. Adjourned.

Novesta, November 7, 1913

The Sanilac Quarterly Meeting convened with the Novesta church at 2:30p.m. Meeting called to order by the clerk. On motion Bro. Willerton was elected chairman and opened the conference by singing and prayer by Bro. E. Sutphen. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Letters read from Novesta, Kingston, Clifford, and North Branch churches. On motion the chairman appointed for the present Pulpit committee Bro. J. F. Thompson and Sister Vohes.

For Locating committee Bros. Sutphen, McWilliams, and Sister Erven. On motion it was voted that the business be left with the Locating committee. On motion it was voted that all church members present act as delegates for their respective churches. On motion it was voted that the Sunday morning collection be given to Sister Williams and the Sunday evening collection be given to the Novesta Church. A report of the Michigan Association was given by the delegate, J. F. Thompson. Motion to adjourn to the call of the chair. Singing and prayer by Bro. Willerton. Friday evening preaching by Bro. Jessie King followed by testimony meeting.

Saturday Nov 8, 1913

9:30 a.m. prayer and praise service led by Bro. J. F. Thompson. Conference called to order by Bro. Sutphen. Minutes read. Report of delegates to Genesee Quarterly Meeting. Bill of Bro. Thompson was presented and allowed as delegate to Michigan association for $5.60.

On motion it was voted that the next Quarterly meeting be held with the Kingston church. Sister Susie Vohies to be Pulpit committee for that term. Motion to adjourn with Prayer by Bro. Sutphen.

The Woman Missionary Society was called to order by Sister Vohies. They appointed Sister Cutting for Pulpit committee for next term. At 11 a.m. preaching by Bro. Thompson.

Saturday 2.30 p.m. Covenant meeting led by Bro. J. H. Swailes, after which the Lord’s Supper was administered by Bros Sutphen and Thompson.

Saturday Evening 7:30 preaching by Bro. Joseph King Free Methodist on missions with collections. Sunday 10 a.m. Sunday school. 11:30 preaching by Bro. J. F. Thompson. At 2:30 p.m. preaching by E. Sutphen. At 7:30 preaching by Bro. John Willerton.
