Kingston, February 6, 1914 The Sanilac Quarterly Meeting convened with the Kingston Church at 2:30 p.m. Conference called to order by the clerk. On motion Bro. E. Sutphen was elected chairman and opened the meeting by singing and reading scripture and prayer by Bro. Peter Upper. Under the order of business, minutes of last meeting read and approved. Letters were from Kingston, Clifford, North Branch, Watertown, and Novesta churches. The chair then appointed Bro. Peter Upper as assistant chairman. On motion it was voted that Sister Tibbles be Pulpit committee for the next term. The chair then appointed Bros Elmer Alin, Mark Sutphen and Sister Evens for Locating Committee. On motion it was voted that the business be left with the locating committee. On motion it was voted that the collection be given to the Kingston church. On motion it was voted that Bro. Upper be corresponding delegate to the Genesee Quarterly meeting. Motion to adjourn to the call of the chair with Prayer by Bro. E. Supthen. Friday evening preaching by Bro. Upper followed by Bro. J. F. Thompson. Saturday February 7, 1914. Ten a.m. conference called to the order by the chair by singing and prayer by Bro. Sutphen. Minutes read and approved. The Locating committee reported that the next Quarterly meeting to be held with the Clifford church. On motion it was so voted. On motion it was voted that the clerk write Br. Myers in regards to Bro. Uppers preaching. On motion it was voted that in case the denomination can find a work for Bro. Upper to preach and he desires it that he be given a letter of recommendation to other bodies. Motion to adjourn prayer by Bro. Sutphen. The Womans Missionary Society was then called to order by Sister Cutting. Under the order of business they elected Sister Evens as a member of the Pulpit committee for the next term of the Quarterly Meeting. At 11 a.m. preaching by Bro. J. F. Thompson. Saturday 2:3p.m. a general Covenant meeting was led by Br. McFarland of Marlette followed by the Lords Supper administered by Bros. J. F. Thompson and E. Sutphen. Saturday evening 7. 30 p.m. preaching by Sister Hosner of Romeo on missions with collection of $5.46 for missions. Sunday 10:30 a.m. preaching by Br. J. F. Thompson with collection of $3.73 and at 2:30 p.m. Young peoples meeting with good Program. Sunday evening preaching by Bro. Shoemaker of the M. E. church followed by Br. J. F. Thompson. With collection for Sister Williams for $5.50. J. H. Swailes, Clerk
Clifford, May 8, 1914 The Sanilac Quarterly meeting convened with the Clifford church. Meeting called to order by singing, reading of scripture and prayer by Bro. Sutphen, McFarland and Thompson. On motion Bro. McFarland was elected chairman. Minutes of the last meeting read by the clerk and approved. Letters read from the following churches, vis, Clifford, North Branch, Novesta, Kingston, Watertown, and Lamotte. The chair then appointed the committee for Locating Committee, Bro. McConal, Sister Tibbles and Bro. Sutphen for Pulpit committee for next term Bro. McWilliams. On motion it was voted that Bro. J. H. Swailes be clerk and treasurer for the coming year. The treasurer made a report which was accepted. On motion it was voted that the Sunday morning collection be left with the Clifford church. On motion Bro. McFarland was elected delegate to the Genesee Quarterly Meeting and Bro. Sutphen to the Oxford Q.M. On motion Bro. Thompson and Bro Sutphen be delegates to the Caro Baptist Association in June. Meeting adjourned by singing and prayer by Bro. Sutphen. Saturday May 9, 10 a.m. Conference called to Order by the chair. Prayer by Bro. J. F. Thompson, McFarland, And Sutphen then singing, reading scripture by Bro. Sutphen. Under the order of business the Woman Missionary Society proceeded by reading minutes of last meeting. Sister Wm. Cornwell was appointed on the Pulpit committee for the next term. After other business was transacted closed singing and prayer by Bro. Sutphen. The Quarterly Meeting conference was then called to order and the Locating committee made their report and recommend that the next Quarterly Meeting be held with the Watertown church. On motion it was so voted. Conference closed by a short prayer service. At 10:30 a.m. preaching by Bro. J. F. Thompson. At 2 p.m. preaching by Bro. Sutphen. At 2:30 p.m. a general Covenant Meeting led by Bro. J. H. Swailes, after which the Lords Supper was administered by Bros. Thompson and Sutphen. At 8 p.m. preaching by Bro. J. F. Thompson with collection for missions of $11.27. 10 a.m. Sunday morning prayer and praise service led by Bro. J. F. Thompson, then at 10:30 a.m. preaching by Bro. McFarland of Marlette to a full house. At 2 p.m. young Peoples meeting with good Program. At 7:30 p.m. preaching by Bro. Sutphen. Sunday collection $10.23. Friday evening meeting by Bro. Sutphen with testimony meeting after. J. H. Swailes, Clerk Watertown, July 31, 1914 The Sanilac Quarterly Meeting convened with the Watertown church at two thirty P.M. Meeting called to order by the clerk. J. H. Swailes. On motion Bro. E. Sutphen was elected chairman. Meeting opened by singing a hymn and reading the 84 Psalm and prayer by the chair. Delegates present from Kingston, Novesta, Clifford, North Branch and Watertown. Minutes of the last meeting read and approved. Letters read from the following churches, Watertown, Kingston, Novesta, North Branch , Clifford and Freemont. The following committees were appointed by the chair, location committee, Bro. William Swailes, E. Sutphen, and Jeff MccConnell. On motion it was voted that Bro. McWilliams be a delegate to the Michigan Association. On motion it was voted to leave the Sunday morning collection with the Watertown church. On motion it was voted to hold the next Quarterly Meeting with the North Branch church. Pulpit committee appointed Miss Ethel McKellp. Motion to adjourn to call of the chair, carried. Friday evening preaching by Bro. Schlabbough of Elkton. Saturday 9 oclock a.m. meeting opened with song service and prayer. Bro. Sutphen in the chair. Bro. J. H. Myers the State agent was present and gave a talk on conditions in the state. Moved by McWilliams that we pay out of the Quarterly Meeting fund the expenses of Bro. Myers. Carried. Moved to adjourn to the call of the chair. Carried. Saturday 10:30 a.m. preaching by Bro. Jessie King. The chair called a meeting for 2 p.m. The meeting was opened, the letters were re-read and Bro. Myers gave another talk. Moved by Bro. Thompson that a letter be sent to the Freemont church clerk by the clerk and chairman of the Sanilac Quarterly meeting. Saturday 2:30 p.m. a general Covenant meeting led by Bro. Wm. Swailes after which the Lords Supper was administered by Bros. J. F. Thompson and John Willerton. Saturday evening Missionary meeting by Bro. Myers, State agent with collection of $5.10. Sunday 10 a.m. Sabbath school. At 11 a.m. preaching by Bro. J. F. Thompson. At 2 p.m. Prayer and Praise service by Bro. John Willerton followed by a Sermon by Bro. Baldon. At 7:30 p.m. preaching by Bro. E. Sutphen. Morning collection $7.52. a Wm Swailes, Clerk, P.T.
North Branch Oct 30, 1914 The Sanilac Quarterly meeting convened with the North Branch church at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Conference called to order by the clerk. On motion Bro. Thompson was elected chairman. Meeting opened by singing and prayer by Bro. Sutphen. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. Letters read from the following churches, vis, North Branch, Clifford, Novesta, Watertown, and Freemont, and Kingston. On motion it was voted that the chair appoint a Locating committee. Bro Sutphen, Sister Tibbles, and Sister Robert Thompson were appointed. For committee on Pulpit for the next term Bro. E. Allen. The Locating Committee reported the next Quarterly Meeting to be held with the Kingston church, it was so voted. On motion it was voted that the Sunday Morning collection be left with the North Branch church. A report by Bro. McFarland of the Genesee Quarterly Meeting was given to good effect. Singing and prayer b Bro. McFarland, Sutphen, Thompson then singing and testimony service, then prayer by several more. Adjourned at the call of the chair. Friday evening preaching by Bro. McFarland. Saturday 9 a.m. Oct 31, 1914. Conference called to order by the chair. Meeting opened by singing and prayer by Sister Tibbles and Bro. J. F. Thompson. A letter was read from the Watertown church. Conference closed by singing. Saturday 9:30 a.m. the Woman Missionary Society was called to order by Sister Chase and read scripture lesson with prayer by same. Sister Tibbles read the minutes of the last meeting and with other business they appointed for Pulpit committee for the next term Sister Neile. Meeting closed by singing. 10:30 a.m preaching by Bro. Slaughbough of Elkton followed by some remarks by Bro. Hiram Goodrich. At 2:30 p.m. preaching by Bro. King. At 3:00 pm. a general Covenant meeting led by Bro. Wm. Swailes after which the Lords Supper was administered by Bro. Sutphen and Bro. Willerton. Saturday evening 7:30 p.m. Prayer and Praise service. At 8 p.m. preaching by Bro. Sutphen with collection for missions of $5.00. Sunday 10:30 Prayer and testimony meeting at 11 a.m. preaching by Bro. Willerton with collection.
