North Branch, Feb 19, 1921 The Sanilac Quarterly Conference meet with the North Branch church. Delegates were present from Kingston, Clifford, and North Branch. Prayer and Praise service at 9:30, which was followed by the business meeting. Bro. Shinn was chosen as chairman. The first order of business was the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting, which were accepted as read. Pulpit and Locating committee was elected as follows, Bro. Shinn, chairman, Bro. McDonald, and Bro. Peck. Letters were read from the Kingston and North Branch churches. The Kingston church reported a good spiritual condition and North Branch reported some new members. Bro. Shinn also gave a verbal report of the Clifford church. Motion made and carried that a collection for Missions be taken on Saturday evening. Motion made and carried that the Sunday morning collection be left with the North Branch church to be disposed of as they saw fit. No other business being presented, meeting adjourned to the call of the chair. Preaching at 11 oclock by Bro. Hosner. He took for his text James 8-4. Covenant meeting opened at 2:30 with Bro King in charge. The attendance was good and a deep spiritual interest was manifested throughout the meeting. The locating committee announced that the next Quarterly Meeting would be held with the Novesta church. Preaching at 7:30 by Bro. Shinn. Sunday, Feb 20, 21 Bro King brought the message in the morning. Sister Hosner preached at 2:30 and Bro. Willerton preached in the evening. The attendance and interest were both good. W. J. Peck, Clerk. Novesta, May 13, 1921 The Sanilac Quarterly Conference met with the Novesta Church. No business meeting was held on Friday afternoon. Preaching in the evening by Bro. Willerton. Sat. morning the conference met in business session at 10:15. Delegates were present from Clifford, Kingston, and Novesta. Meeting opened with song and followed by prayer by Bro. Willerton. Bro. Willerton was elected Chairman and Bro Sutphen assistant chairman. Letters were read from the Kingston, and Clifford churches. By request the constitution and bylaws of the Conference were read by the clerk. Motion was made that Sister Thick and Bro. Kirby be accepted as delegates from the Clifford church. Motion carried. Bro. Willerton stated that the F. W. B church of Lamotte wished to united with the Sanilac Quarterly Conference. Motion was made and accepted that their request be granted. There was some discussion as to whether the Conference should live up the to By Laws. Motion made and carried that hereafter the delegates should meet on Friday afteroon for the business session. Motion made and carried that the Quarterly Meeting by held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, next preceding the full moon in the months of May, August, November and February of each year. Motion made and carried that the Clerk be elected by ballot. Bro Kirby and Bro Biddle were chosen to act as tellers. No decision was reached on the first ballot. On the second ballot fourteen votes were cast, Warren Peck received 11, Bro. Kirby 2, Sister Neal 1 and Prentice Peck 1. Locating and Pulpit committee was elected as follows: Bro. Kirby chairman, Bro. Biddle and Sister Neal. Committee decided the next session of the Quarterly Meeting would be held with the Clifford church. Motion made and carried that the Sunday morning collection be left with the Novesta church. There being no other business presented the meeting adjourned to the call of the chair. The attendance was fair and the spirit good throughout the Quarterly session. W. J. Peck, Clerk.
Clifford, Aug 12, 1921 The Sanilac Quarterly Conference met with the Clifford church. The business session opened at 2:45 with song, followed by scripture reading and prayer by Bro. Sutphen. The first order of business was the reading of the minutes of the previous session, which were accepted as read. Letters were read from the Clifford, North Branch, and Novesta churches. Novesta church reported 27 resident members and a Sabbath Sunday membership of 65. North Branch reported that their attendance was better and the finances in better conditionsnice Bro. F. W. Dean became their Pastor in May. Their Missionary Society reported that they had sent $107.00 to the mission work and a balance on hand of $4.20. The Clifford church reported good progress under the leadership of their Pastor Rev. Dean. They also reported a Mission circle of 24 members. The had sent away for missionary work $6.00 and a balance on hand of $8.00. Pulpit committee was elected as follows: Bro. Dean, Chairman, Bro. Allen, Bro. McDonald, and Bro. Sutphen. Motion was made and carried that the Pulpit committee act as Locating committee. Motion made and carried that the Sunday morning collection be left with the Clifford church. Business session was followed by song and praise service led by Bro. Sutphen, after which the meeting adjourned. Friday evening Bro. Sutphen preached Friday Evening. He read Thess 2-2 for the lesson and took for his text from Solomons Song 4:12. Sat. morning was a meeting of the different mission circles of the Q.M. Meeting was in charge of Sister. Kirby. Reports were read from the North Branch, and Clifford societys. Sister McDonald was elected President for the balance of the year. Motion was made and carried that the treasurer be instructed to forward the money now on hand to where it is most needed. Missionary meeting was followed by a sermon by Bro. Jesse King. Saturday afternoon Covenant meeting opened at 2L 30 in charge of Bro. Sutphen. The communion service was in charge of Bro. Place and Bro. Willerton. Saturday evening, Bro. Dean preached a Missionary sermon. Sunday morning there was a song and praise service at 10: 15. We were pleased to have with us. Bro. Place Pastor of the F.W.B. church at Melvin, who preached a very helpful sermon after the song and praise service. Sunday evening Bro. Slough of Cement City preached a sermon on friendship which was filled with helpful thoughts. The whole session was a spiritual feast from beginning to end the Locating committee announced that the next Quarterly meeting would be held with the Watertown Church. W. J. Peck, Clerk.
