Kingston, Feb 10, 1922 The Sanilac Quarterly Conference convened with the Kingston Baptist church. Business session opened at 2:30 with a number of delegates present. The opening son was followed by prayer, led by Bro. Will Bartholomew. Bro. Supthen was elected chairman. Bro. Sutphen not being present, Sister Hosner was elected chairman pro tem. There being no business session at the November Quarterly meeting at Watertown the minutes of the August session were read and accepted as read. Letters were read from the Novesta, Clifford and Kingston churches. Novesta reported a live S.S. with good attendance but not very good attendance at other services. Kingston and Clifford each reported good interest and good attendance. The mission circle at Clifford reported a membership of 22 and $17.82 in their treasury. Pulpit committee was elected as follows: Bro. Tibble, chairman, Bro. Allen and Sister Hosner. Locating committee, Sister Van Horn, Chairman, Bro. Townsend and Bro. Smith. Motion made and carried that the Sunday morning offering be left with the Kingston church. Motion made and carried that question of whether we continue to pay the per capita tax or not be laid on the table for further consideration. Business session closed by song, followed by a short testimony meeting, after the testimony meeting Bro. North preached a short sermon which was enjoyed very much. Friday evening Meeting opened at 7:30. Song and praise service was followed by prayer. After prayer we were favored with a Duet sung by Bro. North and Bro. S. Sutphen. Bro. Sutphen preached a helpful sermon taking for his text, Rom. 3-4. Sat. A.M. Meeting called to order by the chairman. After prayer by Bro. Upper the question of continuing the payment of the per capita tax was presented to the conference. After some discussion a motion was made that we no longer pay the per capita tax and that an offering be taken to cover the expenses of the conference. There being no other business presented the meeting adjourned. The business session was by a sermon by Bro. Ferguson who took as his text Col. 1-18. Sat afternoon Meeting opened at one o clock Bro. North gave us a wonderful talk. Covenant meeting opened at two o clock and was led by Bro. Sutphen. Sat. evening Bro. Willerton preached a very helpful sermon on missions. The was followed by a talk by Bro. Willerton. His subject being The Trinity in Missions. Sunday morning Song and Praise service at ten o clock was followed by a solo by Bro. North. Preaching service at 10:30 at which time we enjoyed another sermon by Bro. North. Preaching service was followed by a short session of Sabbath School. Sunday afternoon. Bro. Sutphen preached on Preparing for the Second coming of Christ. Sunday Evening Song and Praise service at 7:30 Bro. North brought us the message, reading for the lesson, Rev. 4. His subject was, The Church in Heaven. The attendance was good throughout the session and each message was full of inspiration to Gods children. The Locating committee announced that the next session of the Conference would be held with the Novesta Church. W. J. Peck, Clerk Novesta, May 5, 1922 Quarterly Conference convened with the Novesta church. Business session opened at 3 p.m. with delegates present from Kingston and Novesta. Bro. Willerton was chosen as chairman. The Novesta church reported that they were not having any Prayer Meetings but had preaching service on Sunday evening and also a good Sunday school. Kingston church reported that a number had been added to the church during the winter and that the attendance was good at all services especially the Wed. evening prayer meeting. The locating committee was chosen as follows: Bro. Nightingale, Chairman, Sister Allen, and Sister Van Horn. Motion made and carried the locating committee act as Pulpit committee. W. J. Peck, was elected clerk for the coming year. Motion made and carried that the Sunday Morning offering be left with the Novesta Church. Business closed with song, followed with prayer by the clerk. After the business session Bro. Sharp preached taking for his text, Mark 2, 1 to 12. Friday evening Meeting opened at 7:30 with son and praise service. Sister Hosner brought us a very helpful message taking as her subject "A mighty faith takes mighty risks. Joshua 2-9. Saturday. Morning Love feast at 10 o clock was followed by a sermon by Bro. Hosner. Sat. afternoon Covenant meeting opened at 2:30 with the clerk in charge. Although the attendance was not large the interest was good. Saturday evening Service opened at 8 o clock Sister Sharp brought the message taking for the lesson, James 1 and for her text James 2:17. Sunday Morning Sunday School at 10 o clock Preaching at 11 o clock by Bro. Hosner who gave us a very helpful message. Taking for his lesson Matt. 3 and his text from Matt 3:11. Sunday afternoon Meeting opened at 3 o clock, Bro preached on the power of prayer. Acts 10:4. Sunday evening Preaching by Bro. Sharp. W. J. Peck, Q. M. clerk Watertown, Aug 4, 1922 The Sanilac Quarterly Conference met with the Watertown Church. The business session opened at 3 o clock. Prayer and Praise service was followed by the reading of the minutes of the previous session, which were accepted as read. Bro Sutphen was elected chairman. Pulpit committee was elected as follows, Sister Neal, Chairman, Bro. Wooley, and Bro. McConnel. Motion made and carried that pulpit committee act as locating committee. Motion made and carried that the Sunday morning offering be used to apply on clerks salary. There was some discussion as it what should be done with the Missionary money now on hand. It was decided to put the matter over until there were more delegates present. There was also some discussion about changing the date for holding the Quarterly sessions. This question was also left until the next business session. Motion made and carried that the meeting adjourn to the call of the chairman. The business meeting was followed by a sermon by Bro. North. He took Exodus 28 as the foundation of his remarks. Bro. North preached in the evening and also on Saturday morning. His messages were much enjoyed by those present. Covenant meeting at 2:30 Saturday afternoon with eighteen present. Bro. Nightingale led the meeting and read for the lesson, John 13. The Lord was in the meeting, giving liberty in testimony and song. A business session was held after the covenant meeting. Motion made and carried that hereafter the Quarterly Sessions shall convene on the first Friday after the first Sunday in the months of May, August, November and February of each year. Sunday Aug 6 Prayer and Praise service at 10;15 which wasled by Bro. Norton of Melvin. He read for our instruction Eph. 3. Bro. Hosner brought the message reading for his lesson, Second Cor. 2, and taking for his text, Second Cor. 2:20.
