Kingston, Feb 9, 1923 The Sanilac Quarterly Conference met with the Kingston Church. Meeting Opened at 2:20 with clerk in charge. After song service we were led in prayer by Bro. Sutphen. Motion made and carried that Bro. Hosner act as chairman of the Quarterly session. Minutes of previous session were read and accepted as read. No delegation were present except those form the Kingston church. Pulpit committee was chosen as follows. Bro. Hosner, Chairman, Sister Evans, Bro. Sutphen. Motion made and carried that Pulpit committee act as locating committee. Motion made and carried that matter of disposing of the Missionary money be put over until the next business session. The matter of disposing of the Sunday morning offering be left until the next business session. Friday evening service opened at 7:30. Prayer and Praise service was followed by a sermon by Bro. Sutphen, who preached from Jer. 6:16. Sat morning, Bro. Hosner brought us the message taking for his text 1st Thess. 6. Saturday afternoon the covenant meeting opened by 2:30. The Clerk not being present, Bro. Sutphen took charge of the meeting. A business was held after Covenant meeting to dispose of the Missionary money on hand. Motion made and carried that $10.00 be sent to Bro. and Sister Atcheanac. $10.00 to Bro. and Sister Scott for the work in the Virgin Islands. $10.00 to Gods Revivalist at Cincinnati, Ohio. On Sunday morning Bro. Sutphen, preached from John 1. In the afternoon a childrens meeting was held and was enjoyed very much by all present. Sunday evening Bro. Hosner brought the message, reading for the lesson Romans 8 and taking for his text Romans 8:16. The attendance was fair and interest good throughout the Quarterly session. The Locating committee announced that the next session would be held with the Novesta Church. W. J. Peck, Clerk
Novesta, May 11, 1923 The Sanilac Quarterly Conference convened with the Novesta church. Business session opened at 2:30 by singing, "Since Jesus came into my heart." Followed by prayer by Bro. Willerton. Letters were read from the Novesta, Clifford and Kingston churches. Pulpit committee was chosen as follows, Sister Collins, Chairman, Sister Neal, and Bro. Biddle. Motion made and carried that Pulpit committee act as Locating committee. Motion made and carried that the Sunday morning offering be left with the Novesta church Delegates were present from the Kingston, Clifford, and Novesta churches. The Clifford church requested the August session of the Quarterly Meeting which request was granted. There being no other business presented the business session adjourned and was followed by a testimony meeting which was led by the Clerk. Meeting closed with song and prayer. Fri. evening. Meeting opened at 8 o clock. Bro. Sutphen preached from Romans 8:28. Saturday morning. There was a song and praise service at 10:30. This was followed by preaching service. Bro. Willerton brought the message, taking for the foundation of his remarks, Acts 2:32 to the end of the chapter. Sat. afternoon Covenant meeting opened at 2:30. This service was led by the clerk and was followed by the observation of the Lords Supper. On Saturday evening, Sister Fillmore brought us the message. She read Matthew 26 for the lesson, and took her text from Matthew 9:10. Sister Fillmore preached again on Sun. morning. The text was Second Cor. 6:1. Bro. Sutphem preached in the afternoon and the evening service was in charge of the Young People. Friday and Saturday the attendance was not large, but on Sunday the church was well filled. The whole session was a time of Spiritual uplift. W. J. Peck, Clerk.
Clifford, Aug 10, 1923 Quarterly Meeting convened with the Clifford Church. Business session opened at 2:30 with the Clerk in charge. Motion made and carried that Bro. Sutphen act as chairman of this Quarterly session. Motion made and carried that the clerk act as assistant chairman. Singing "I Love To Tell The Story." Bro. Sutphen read from the scripture lesson, Isa 5:3. Prayer by Sister Fillmoe. Song, "Rescue the Pershing." Letters were recd from the Kingston and Clifford churches. The Clifford church reported good attendance and good prayer meetings. The Kingston church reported good attendance and good interest, and also that they were well pleased with their new pastor. Pulpit committee was chosen as follows: Bro. Sutphen, chairman, Bro. Nightingale, and Bro. Tipple. Locating committee, Sister Peck, chairman, Sister Evans, and Bro. Sharp. Motion made and carried that the Sunday morning officers be left with the Clifford church. The business session was followed by a Praise and Testimony meeting led by Bro. Sutphen. Meeting closed by singing "Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow." W. J. Peck, Clerk. P.S. The locating committee reported that the next Quarterly session worked meet with the Novesta church. W.J.P. Novesta, Nov 9, 1923 The Sanilac Quarterly Conference met with the Novesta church. Business session opened at three o clock. Meeting opened with prayer and singing, "Precious Name." Motion made and carried that Bro. Willerton act as chairman. Minutes of previous session read and approved. Pulpit and Locating committee was elected as follows: Bro. Biddle, chairman, Sister Peck, and Sister Fillmore. Motion made and carried that Bro. Kline be asked to assist in the Quarterly meeting. Motion made and carried that the clerk write a letter of sympathy to Bro. Sutphen. The Clerk wrote the letter as instructed and Bro. Sutphen reported that he got Shouting Happy while reading the letter. Meeting closed by singing, "He Rolled the Sea Away," followed by prayer by Sister Fillmore.
