Last Meeting of The Township Supervisors Dec. 3, 1968

Members of the present County Board of Supervisors pose for the last time as a 25 member function body as the new seven member board takes office January 1. There are Quentin Howell, Charles F. Celebrates 80th Birthday

J.E. Van Horn, better known as "Ed" celebrated his 80th birthday on December 2, 1968. Friends and relatives gathered at his home as a surprise to help him celebrate. Several lovely gifts were received by him and cake and ice cream were served.

Ed is a life long resident of the Kingston area, being born and raised on a farm home S. and E. of Kingston. To a wonderful father, we his children say God Bless you and grant you many more birthdays.

Engagement Announced

Society News

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Legg of Roscommon visited relatives here Saturday.

Mrs. Flora Hubbard of Caro was pleasantly surprised at a birthday dinner in her honor at the Home of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Moore and Wayne. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Welsey Hubbard and family of Hillsdale and Mr. and Mrs. E. J. McCool and Dick.

Wm. Tong, Nancy Cojacari & cousin were Saturday callers on relatives and friends here.

Claude Kaddatz of Lake Orion was caller in town Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ensign visited relatives in Pontiac Sun.

Mrs. Lisa Davis and children were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons.

Mr. and Mrs. Emerson McIntyre and children were Sunday guests of their parents Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moore.

Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons were Saturday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ingeright in Saginaw.

Mr. and Mrs. Leland Ensign were business callers in Saginaw Friday afternoon. They called on Mr. and Mrs. Jay Ensign in Caro on their way home.

Mrs. James Caswell, Miss Alice Steele, and Mrs. Leland Ensign were business callers in Cass City, Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Silvernail and Sandra attended the Open House in honor of the 25th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Caudell at the Davison lst. Baptist Church on Sunday.

Miss Paula Lundbergand Mr. Doug Kramer of Mt. Pleasant spent the weekend at the Marvin Kramer home and on Saturday were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Vernard Stark, Michael and Alisa of Saginaw.

Mrs. Ruth Frost of Marlette was a caller at the Leo Legg home Wednesday.

COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS

A regular meeting of the Kingston Commons Council was called to order by President Edward Kaminski at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Room on Dec. 2, 1968 with the following members present: Barrons, Cameron, Mrs. Lalko and Peter.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The following bills were referred to the Audit Committee, moved by Peter, supported by Cameron that the bills be allowed and orders drawn for same. Ayes – All, Nays – 0, motion carried.

Moved by Barrons, supported by Peter that the village radio equipment be picked up at Bad Axe and brought to Kingston. Ayes – All, Nays – 0, motion carried.

Moved by Barrons, supported by Lalko, that the Fireman Obtain sacks and pack Christmas candy. Ayes – All, Nays – 0, motion carried.

An ordinance moved by Lalko, supported by Barrons making it unlawful for a person to operate a snowmobile on the streets of the Village of Kingston in excess of 15 miles per hour, and other restrictions was passed.

Moved by Lalko, supported by Cameron that meeting be adjourned.
