Death Notices

Clifford E. Bell, age 77, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Bell, Sr., was born near Kingston June 22, 1891, and departed this life November 22, 1968 from the Veterans Hospital, Dearborn, after a long illness. HE was the fourth from the youngest in a family of twelve. His early life was spent in the vicinity of Kingston, in farm work and other forms of employment.

In 1925, he and Miss Rhoda Nellis, also of Kingston, were united in Marriage. This union was blessed with three children: Raymond of Drayton Plains, Mrs. LaVern (Ruth) Silvis of Drayton Plains, and Harold of Flint.

The greater part of their married life was spent in Pontiac and near Flushing. Besides his children and fourteen grandchildren, he is survived by two brothers and a sister; Harry Bell of Berkley, , R. D. Bell of Lansing, and Mrs. Grant (Pearl) Wood of Pontiac, and a great number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Rossell Funeral Home in Flushing, November 26, with burial in the Flushing Cemetery.

Casket bearers, all nephews of the deceased, were Wendell Bell, Cleatus Bell, Milton Bell, Donald Bell, Dwight Bell, and Robert Bell.

PURELY LOCAL

Miss Nancy Adamczyk and friend David Barrios returned Saturday after spending Thanksgiving week with the Barrios family in New Orleans, La. Mrs. John Adamczyk and John Jr, met them at the New York Central Terminal in Detroit. Miss Adamczyk returned to C.M.U. Monday where she is a junior.

Mr. and Mrs. Felix Brandish had as Thanksgiving Day guests Mr. and Mrs. John Fortansie, John Jr., Jimmie, Joe and Jo Ann of Birmingham. Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Smith of Madison Heights, Dorian Staff and fiance Lucille Bun of Madison Heights.

Mr. and Mrs. Leland Ensign were Thanksgiving Day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Caswell, Art and Alice Steele. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Howell and Erin of Reese were evening callers.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Moore and Ellen Marie were guests on Thanksgiving Day of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Grindley in Owosso.

Mrs. Alton Lyons and Ed enjoyed Thanksgiving Day with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Howey and Wilma.

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ensign and children were dinner guests on Thanksgiving Day of her mother, Mrs. Everett Rich, Maxine and Patsy of Silverwood.

Mr. and Mrs. John Richter of Saginaw, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Rodenbo and family of Auburn Heights, Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Green and family of Lake Orion, Mrs. Albert Denhoff and children were Thanksgiving Day visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal.

Mr. and Mrs. Everett Penfold were Thursday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Schrader, Becky and Mary.

Mr. and Mrs. Lou Brunell of Flint were Tuesday callers at the Eugene Rassette home.

Thanksgiving Day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moore were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Geror, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Geror, and Sherry of Pontiac, Mrs. R. L. Dafoe of Warren, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wynn and children of Battle Creek, Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Moore and Wayne, Miss Janet Harneck and Mrs. Wiswell.

Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Everett and Ulrich Schewermann spent Thanksgiving and the week end with Rev. and Mrs. James Cattran of Milford Center, Ohio.

Thanksgiving Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Barrons and boys were Mr. and Mrs. Don Powell and family of Lum, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilmot and family, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Allen and family and Mrs. Hazel Wilmot.

Society News

Miss Ellen Rassette of Avis, PA spent a few days with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rassette.

Miss Marsha Hubbard spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Orville Hubbard. Marsha is attending a Deaconess Nursing School in Detroit.

Mr. Ross Ricketts is very ill in Hubbard Hospital, Bad Axe.

Mr. and Mrs. James McCabe spent the weekend with relatives here.

Mr. and Mrs. James Jersey of Grand Ledge were week end guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Clement.

Miss Cheryl Parker of Jackson was a Thanksgiving Day guest of her parents Mr. and Mrs. George Parker.

Sgt. Jay Parker left Monday for duty in Viet Nam. Mrs. Jay Parker left Tuesday for Phoenix, Arizona to live with her parents while Jay is in service, Saturday evening, their relatives gave them a going away party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Parker.

Miss Mary Rassette of Mt. Pleasant spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rassette. On Thanksgiving Day they all enjoyed dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Gendron in Flint.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Showers and Shannon of Rochester spent Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Penfold.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Kramer and Joy entertained Mr. and Mrs. Ver Stark, Michael, and Alisa of Saginaw and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Legg for dinner Thanksgiving Day. They were joined for lunch by Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lalko and family and Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Kramer.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Wm. Curry of Troy are spending some time at their farm home. They were joined Thanksgiving Day by their son George.

Mr. and Mrs. John Burmeister were Saturday callers at the Leo Legg home.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sullivan and children of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Marie Goodwin of Royal Oak spent the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Louis F. Wenzlaff.

Mr. Guy Rassette of Detroit visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rassette on Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Predmore of Detroit enjoyed Thanksgiving Day with relatives here. All the Parkers were at the Dale Clement home for the day.

Thursday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wynn, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moore attended the Calvary’s Thanksgiving Concert at the Ford Auditorium.
