No Names
on Village Ballots |
| In the coming Village Election to be
held on Monday, March 13, those that go to the polls to vote will find a ballot without
names. This is due to the fact that the persons who had petitions circulated for the
offices they were interested in did not specify whether they were of the Republican of
Democratic Party. This is law now, that the party of the petitioner must be on the
petition. So, when you go to vote the ballots will be minus names. Just the officewill be
printed with blank spaces for write-ins or stickers. Those
who circulated petitions were Ed Kaminski for President, Mildred Parrot for Treasurer;
Beverly Jeffrey for Clerk; Fran Peter for Trustee.
No other petitions were filed. It is up to you the citizens of
Kingston Village to write in your choice. |

GOT YOURS? |
| No takers, Pretty 19 year old Caroly
Obenour, a clerk at the Automobile Club of Michigans Detroit office, uses some of
her unsold license plates to point out that sales across the state are over 25 percent
below last years pace. February 28th
is the deadline for having 1967 plates attached to automobiles.
Last day plate buyers are expected to form the longest lines
in recent years unless sales begin to increase soon, Auto Club states.
In order to purchase 1967 plates, you must show either 1966
car registration or title plus proof of insurance. Proof of insurancecan be a certificate
from the insurance company or insurance policy showing coverage. In addition to the cost
of plates, motorists with proof of insurance must pay $1 into the uninsured motorist fund.
Those without proof must pay $35 into the fund plus the cost of the plates. |
