Death Notices

Roland Johnson 78 of Flint former hardware dealer in Deford passed away in Flint Friday.

His funeral was Tuesday, February 20, 1968.

Burial was in Smith Hill Cemetery in Otisville, Michigan.

Honored on 99th Birthday

Mr. William Penfold Deford will behonored by his family and a few friends Sunday Feb. 25th.

The occasion is his 99th birthday which will be his 99th birthday which will be on Monday February 26th. Mr. Penfold is in very good health he has been fortunate in having an eye operation and his once failing sight has been much improved so that he can once again enjoy reading writing and television.

Society News

Mrs. C. B. Schwaderer left Sunday to visit her son Mr. and Mrs. Clark Schwaderer at Pompano Beach, Florida.

Mr. and Mrs. James Caswell spent the weekend at their cottage at Smallwood Heights.

Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Green & family of Lake Orion spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal.

Mrs. Frank Parker, George Parker, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Parker and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Clement, Roger, and Tom and Mr. and Mrs. James Jersey enjoyed a turkey dinner Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. James Parker and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Torongeau and family spent the week end with Mrs. Ernest Torongeau.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Showers and Shannon of Rochester spent Sunday with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Everett Penfold.

Mrs. Norris Boyne of Deford was a Friday caller at the Leo Legg home.

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Weslowski were Saturday evening callers at the Ernest Torongeau home.

Mrs. Leo Legg called on her sister Mrs. Ethel Annin in the Marlette Memorial Wing of the hospital Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lalko were at Durand Sunday to attend the Greater Michigan 7th Annual All Stars Concert. Four from Kingston Community School played in the band. Ellen Moore, Brenda Lalko, Shelly Schwaderer and Phil Thompson. The group was there Saturday and Sunday staying at the home of Durant Band members Sat.

Mrs. James Caswell and Alice Steele were business callers in Saginaw Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons called on his mother Mrs. Mary Booth at the Caro Medical Facilities on Saturday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. John Barden, Jr. entertained Mr. and Mrs. John Barden, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons and Ed at a dinner Sunday in honor of the twins Jack and Jill’s 4th birthday.

Mrs. Robert Wilmot, Mark & Mrs. Ray Dawson spent Monday in Detroit visiting Mrs. Dawson’s sister Mrs Harry Savaille also her mother Mrs. Fred Austin.

Mrs. Frank Nemeth, Mrs. James Caswell, Leland Ensign Earl Butler and Louis Babish attended a District Meeting for Assessor’s and Board of Review members in Lapeer Friday.

S/Sgt and Mrs. Lyle Torongeau and family spent the weekend at the Earnest Torongeau home. S/Sgt Torongeau is leaving soon for a base in Virginia.
