Death Notices

Lynn Eschtruth, Jr. – Funeral services for baby Lynn Eschtruth, Jr. were held Monday, July 8, 1968.

Lynn Eschtruth, Jr. was born May 22, 1967 and had been ill since birth. He passes away Friday, July 5, 1968 at the Rock Haven Nursing home in Flat Rock, Michigan.

He leaves his parents, Lynn Sr, and Patricia Eschtruth, five sister, Debra Lynn, Pattie Ann, Kathy Jo, Sandra Jean, and Helen June, two brothers Mark James and John Wayne all at home and his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lawler of Peck.

Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. from the Kingston United Methodist Church with Rev. Forrest Farr and Rev. Verne Blankenburg officiating. Burial was in the Kingston Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Powell and family entertained Mrs. Hazel Wilmot, Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Everett, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Allen and family, Mr. and Mrs James Barrons and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilmot and family, Mr. and Mrs. Daryl Allen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wally Wilmot and family of Royal Oak, Mr. and Mrs. George Trask and family of Oxford at a family gathering the 4th of July at their home near Lum.

Engagement Announced

Mr. and Mrs. William B. Schwaderer wish to announce the engagement of their daughter Christina Irene to Mr. Jerome T. Fitzhenry, son of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Fitzhenry of Arlington Heights, Illinois.

The bride elect, a senior journalism major at Central Michigan University, is a 1965 graduate of Kingston High School. Her fiance is an assistant professor on the faculty of Central Michigan University.

The couple plan a September 7th wedding at St Mary’s Chapel on the University campus.

COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS

A regular meeting of the Common Council was called to order by President Edward Kaminski at 7:45 p.m. in the Council Rooms on July 1, 1968 with the following members present: Barrons, Cameron and Peter. Mrs. Lalko arrived late.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

The minutes of the two special meetings were read and approved.

Mr. Leslie Nelson was in questioning about his village taxes.

Bills were referred to the Audit Committee. Moved by Cameron, supported by Peters that the bills be allowed and orders drawn for same. Ayes, All; Nays, 0. Motion carried.

Moved by Lalko, supported by Cameron to accept the building permit of Walt Planz for siding on his house. Ayes, All; Nays. 0. Motion carried.

Moved by Barrons, supported by Mrs. Lalko that Edward Kaminski be appointed Health Officer for the Village of Kingston for the remaining fiscal year. Ayes, all; Nays, 0. Motions carried.

The mail was read and placed on file.

Moved by Mrs. Lalko, supported by Barrons that we adjourn.

SOCIAL NEWS

Mrs. Lawrence Suntken and baby of Charlotte are spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Schrader and girls.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wynn are at Winona Lake, Indiana attending the Youth for Christ International Convention. Their children are with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moore.

Mr. and Mrs. John Richter of Saginaw spent he 4th of July weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Denhoff and children.

Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Howey spent the past weekend touring through Northern Michigan.

Mr. Allen McKinch of Port Huron called on B. E. Moore Mon. morning.

Mrs. Leo Legg and Mrs. Marvin Kramer visited Ethel Annin at the wing of the Marlette Hospital Sunday.

Mrs. Ruth Frost, Marlette, was a Wed. caller at the Leo Legg home.

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Legg and Mrs. Harland Legg visited Tuesday at the Arthur Legg home in Pontiac.

Joy Kramer and Nancy Lalko spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wesch and family in Linden.

Kurt Legg of Ypsilanti and Sue Reynolds spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Harland Legg.

Mrs. Stanley Moore and Ellen are spending 12 days at the Gaines Camp, Gaines, Michigan.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wynn and children moved their household goods to Battle Creek Last Wednesday to be hear his work.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal visited relatives in Imlay City. Wed.

Ron Barrons is counseling at Camp Rankin, Lexington, Mich. for the summer.

Recent guests of the J. M. Burmeister home were Mrs. Carrie Holcomb of Midland, Mr and Mrs. Grant Wood, of Pontiac, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wycikoskis and daughter Christine of Vassar, Mrs. Leo Legg and Mrs. Marvin Kramer, Mrs. Lloyd Earl Williams of Marlette and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Williams of Kalamazoo.

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rogers and family have moved into their home they recently purchased on Washington Street.

Dale Allen, David and Brenda Lalko, Fred Peter, Grant and Craig Gettel are among the 4-H members who are at the Out Door Camp near Caseville this week.

Sgt. and Mrs. Anthony L. Mileski are enjoying a leave from Camp Pendleton, California. At present they are at Higgins Lake with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Moore.

Mrs.s Orville Snyder of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Jay Ensign of Caro were Monday evening callers at the Leland Ensign home.
