OBITUARIES August LaJoie, a resident of Deford, Michigan was born in Canada June 14, 1901 and passed away at Hills and Dales Hospital in Cass City June 10, 1968 following a long illness. August LaJoie and Dorothy Noeske were married in Toledo Ohio February 10, 1940. Mr. LaJoie was a retired Ford Motor Assembly Line employee and had lived in the is community 11 years. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Dorothy, 4 daughters, Mrs. Rita Zimba, Deford; Mrs. Juliet Barker; and Mrs. Martha DeBlois of Dearborn Heights; Miss Laura LaJoie at home; 1 son Henry of Taylor, Michigan 13 grandchildren and 1 brother Palma LaJoie of Quebec, Canada. Mr. LaJoie was a former member of the of the Knights of Columbus. Rosary was said at 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Harmon Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 13, at twelve noon from St. Michaels Catholic Church, Wilmot, with Rev. Father Raymond Pilarski officiating. Burial was in St Michaels Cemetery.

Golden Anniversary The children of Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Eastman will have Open House, on Sunday afternoon June 16, from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Methodist Church, Cass City, Michigan in honor of their parents 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Moore visited relatives in Lapeer and Flint last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Emerson McIntyre and children of Owosso entertained at dinner Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wynn and children and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Wynn of Owosso honoring all who have birthdays in June. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Schrader Becky and Mary called on Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schrader and family Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Archie Rodenbo and family of Auburn Heights, Sunday afternoon was Open House for Carol Rodenbo. She was a graduate of the Avondale High School of Auburn Height. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Denhoff also attended the Open House on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ensign attended the graduation exercises at Mayville Sunday were Miss Patsy Rich was graduated. They also attended the Open House at the home of her mother Mrs. Everett Rich. Mr. and Mrs. Venard Stark and Children of Saginaw visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Kramer of Joy Sun. George Parker sons Jay, Scott, and Mar, have gone to Texas for some sea fishing. Miss Edna Stoner is recovering very well at the Tuscola County Medical Facilities. Mrs. Hazel Wilmot visited Mr. and Mrs. Wally Wilmot in Royal Oak Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Vernon Everett is spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Guy Jarvis in Royal Oak. Mrs. R. L. Dafoe spent Sunday with her mother Mrs. Wiswell. Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Everett and Beverly, Mrs. Vernon Everett, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Parrott, Grace and Jim attended the Open House honoring Miss Nancy Jarvis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Jarvis at their home in Royal Oak Sunday. Nancy is a graduate of the Royal Oak Kimball High School. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Moore and Ellen spent the weekend with her brother Mr. and Mrs. Rex Hicks and family of Wheaton, Illinois. Guests at the home of Mrs. Omar Glaspie Sunday were, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Gyomory and daughter of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Francis and 3 children of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Francis of Reese and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Eastman of Marlette. It being their mothers birthday. Mrs. Glaspie received nice gifts which she thanked them all. Mrs. Bell Jacobs of Kansas City, Missouri is spending the week with her sister and family Mr. and Mrs. Harland Legg.

| COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
A regular meeting of the Kingston Common Council was called to order by President Edward Kaminski at 7:30 in the Council Rooms on June 3, 1968 with the following members present: Barrons, Cameron, Lalko, and Peter. Gettel arrived lake. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved: The minutes of the two special meetings were read and approved. The mail was read and place on file. Bills were referred to the Audit Committee, moved by Peter, supported by Barrons that the bills be allowed and orders drawn for same. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. Moved by Gettel, supported by Barrons to accept the building permit of Donald A. Legg to build an addition to house. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. Moved by Gettel, supported by Peter that we hire the Saginaw Road Oilers to spread oil on designated streets. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. Moved by Barrons, supported by Cameron that Walter Harmon be given permission from the street administration to dump dirt on village right-of-way. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. The Parking Authority Fact Finding Committee was present with their report. Another member, Walter Harmon, was appointed. They were informed by the council to continue in their work and report back as soon as possible. There is to be a Police Department report at the next meeting. Moved by Peter, supported by Cameron that the Tax Roll be accepted as presented by the Village Assessor Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. Moved by Cameron, supported by Barrons that we accept the resignation of Ed Lewicki. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. Moved by Mrs. Lalko, supported by Cameron that Robert Schwaderer be added to the regular fire department members. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried.
