Class of 1917 and Teachers

The Kingston High School Class of 1917 celebrated their 50th Anniversary of graduation on June 10, 1967 at the home of Thelma (Legg) and Amber Jones on Washington St. with a bountiful pot luck dinner at noon.

Ten were priviledged to be present. Three of the members Helen (Legg) Evernson, Salinas, California, Katie (Gregor) Papineau of Saginaw, Mich. And Ray Roy of Rhodes, Michigan could not attend.

The afternoon was spent in visiting and looking at the 1916-1917 snap shot book which was an interesting item for comments and recallection. Ward Waldie and Norman Ruggles had arranged a short program which included a short autobiography from each class member present.

One amusing situation occurred when Ethel (Westerby) Smith arrived from Warren, Michigan and was unable to recognize several of her former classmates who she had not seen for 40 to 45 years. This verified the fact that "time changes things."

Several former school mates and friends of the class called in the afternoon to meet and visit with old friends.

Everyone said he ad enjoyed the opportunity to meet again and would look forward to getting together again at some later date.
