Jerome Schwartz is New Principal

The Kingston Community School Board held a regular board session on Monday, May 22, 1967, at which they elected Jerome G. Schwartz as Principal of Kingston High School for the coming school year. John Holodnick, who held the principalship for three years, is leaving and will take on other administrative duties.

Mr Schwartz was born in New York City and completed his high school education there. His elementary education was gained In Bremerhaven, Germany. He holds a B.A. degree from Atlantic Union College and a M.A. degree from Andrews Unversity. Mr Schwartz attended universitites for two years beyond his M.A. degree including graduate study at the University of Michigan.

Mr Schwartz has spent eight years in education and has held positions of teacher, Dean of Men, Assistant Principal, and Principal. For the past two years he has been guidance counselor at Kingston High School. He is married to the former Linda Schultz of Chesaning, Michigan and has a 3 year old son named Brian Peter.

Mr Schwartz feels that his experience in parochial, private and public school systems will be of value to him. His previous administrative experience make him no newcomer to a very demanding job.

Death Notices

Mr. Ray Wilcox, 73 passed away Tuesday, May 16, 1967 after a brief illness.

He was born July 7, 1893 in Imlay City, the son of the later William and Emiley Wicox.

He married Frances Turner September 1915. She passed away December 30, 1960. After their marriage they resided in Imlay City and moved to Koylton Twp. in 1955 where he resided until his death.

Mr Wilcox was a member of Marlette Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs Sheldon Sanford of Port Huron and Mrs. Edward Zuehlke of Kingston, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette on Saturday at 2 p.m. Rev John J. Meyer, pastor of Marlette Presbyterian Church officiated.

Burial was in Imlay City, Imlay City Twp.

1917 Class Reunion

Mr and Mrs Amber Jones are entertaining at their home on Washington Street, Kingston the graduating class of K.H.S with a pot luck dinner at noon on Saturday, June 10, 1967.

They will be celebrating the 50^th Anniversary of their graduation.

Any former acquaintances or school mates of any members of this class are cordially invited to call in the afternoon to meet old friends.

The members of this class who are expected to be present are: Loa (Crittenden) Dorman, Katie (Gregor) Papineau, Ray Roy, Helen (Legg) Evenson, Thelma (Legg) Jones, Norman Ruggles, Ward Waldie, Lilly (Wenzlaff) Curry, and Ethel (Westerby) Smith.

PURELY LOCAL

Mrs Everett Penfold, Miss Judy, Mrs Theodore Martin all spent the week end in Rochester with Mr and Mrs Harry Showers, Mrs Martin visited her daughter Sylvia while there.

Chas Gilliland is very ill in Hills and Dales Hospital in Cass City.

Mr and Mrs Frank Brooks of Pontiac spent the week end with her parents Mr and Mrs Leland Ensign.

Miss Lynn Barber of Caro was a week end guest of Miss Alice Steele.

Mr and Mrs Guy Jarvis and family of Royal Oak were the week end guests of her mother Mrs Vernon Everett and relatives.

Mrs Ambrose Thorp, Mrs Donald Markhart, daughters Laurine and June were dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Leland Ensign on Sunday.

Mr and Mrs Edgar Wallace of Flint were welcome guests of Mrs J. H. Hunter on Friday afternoon.

Sunday guests of Mr and Mrs Richard Wynn at a dinner honoring Ronda’s 4^th birthday were Mr and Mrs Alex Wynn, Mr and Mrs Emerson McIntyre of Owosso, Mr and Mrs B.E. Moore, Mrs Wiswell and Mr and Mrs Arnold Moore.

Mrs Grace (Weldon) Veau of Royal Oak visited Mrs Hazel Parker and relatives in this vicinity on Sunday.

Mr and Mrs Emerson McIntyre and children of Owosso spent the week end and Memorial Day with their parents Mr and Mrs Arnold Moore.

Mr and Mrs Louis Legg of Roscommons were callers in town on Saturday.

Mr and Mrs Ross Hartt of Ferndale called on relatives and friends Friday on their way to their cottage near Caseville.

Mrs Loie Evans and Mrs Sam Miller called at the Wayne Schrader home Thursday evening.

Mr and Mrs Jerry Furlong of Saginaw spent Sunday with her parents Mr and Mrs Eugene Hendeson and attended the graduation of Carey Henderson.

Mr and Mrs C.W. Peck and Mrs C.J. Woodruff of Royal Oak, Michigan were Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Amber Jones.

Mr Walter Parrott Sr and Miss Lois Parrott of Troy were guests of Mr and Mrs Walter Parrott Jr, and family on Sunday.

Mrs. Douglas Ensign and children called on her mother Mrs Everett Rich of Silverwood on Saturday.

Mr and Mrs Paul Weeks of Pontiac spent the week end with their parents Mr and Mrs Foster Plane and Bob.

Mr and Mrs Wayne Schrader were in Pontiac on business on Monday.

Mr L. W. Reddaway of Flint and Mrs J. H. Hunter were at the Bad Axe Cemetery Monday.

Mr and Mrs Barton Hartt of Otisville were Sunday visitors at the Eugene Henderson home.

Mr and Mrs Richard Koppelberger and children of Wayne spent the week end at the Ralph Koppelberger and Foster Plane homes.

Mr and Mrs Raymond Quiel and family, Mr and Mrs Paul Torongeau and family of Taylor and Mrs Donald Janneck and family of Trenton were Sunday guests of their parents Mr and Mrs Ernest Torongeau. In the afternoon they attended the open house at the Stephen Moore home in honor of their daughter Janet Waunita’s graduation.

Notice of Mortgage Foreclosure

Default having been made in the conditions of a certain mortgage made the 31^st day of March, 1966, by Jack A. LaBreck and Shirley A. Labreck, husband and wife, as mortgagees, to the Kingston State Bank, Kingston, Michigan as mortgagee, and recorded on April 1, 1966 in the office of the Register of Deeds for Tuscola County, Michigan, in Liber 241 of Mortgages on Page 602; on which mortgage there is claimed to be due and unpaid at the date of this notice $19,350.57 principal and $338.49 interest; no suit or proceeding at law or in equity having been instituted to recover the debt, or any part of the debt, secured by said mortgage, and the power of sale in said mortgage contained having become operative by reason of such default.

Notice is hereby given that on August 7, 1967, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, at the North front door of the Courthouse in the Village of Caro that being the place for the County of Tuscola, there will be offered for sale and sold to the highest bidder, at public sale, for the purpose of satisfying the amounts due and unpaid upon said mortgage, together with the legal costs and charges of sale including an attorney fee of Seventy Five ($75.00) Dollars provided by law and in said mortgage, the lands and premises in mortgage mentioned and described as follows:
