Kingston News

Mr and Mrs Floyd Wilson of Luke were Sunday and Monday guest of Mr and Mrs Delos Stoner.
Mr and Mrs Gordon Walker and Fred of Caro, and Mrs Cecil Walker visited relatives in Pontiac Friday. Mr and Mrs Gordon Walker and Fred visited their son Mr and Mrs John Walker and family in Walled Lake and Mrs Cecil Walker visited her son Mr and Mrs Dilles Walker in Drayton Plains. Gordon and his mother, Mrs Cecil Walker also called on James Cook who is a patient in the Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital.
Mr and Mrs Forest Thornton of Port Huron are spending a few days with Mrs Hazel Wilmot.
Mr and Mrs Raymond Quiel and family, Mr and Mrs Paul Tonrongeau and family of Taylor were week end guests of Mr and Mrs Earnest Torongeau. Their grandson, Clifford Quiel, is spending the week with the Tonrongeau’s his grandparents.
Mr and Mrs Archie Rodenbo and family of Auburn Heights spent the week end with her parents Mr and Mrs Fred Neal.
Mrs Mary McAlpine was a dinner guest of Mrs Cecil Walker on Friday.
Mrs Alice Ensign spent Friday with her sister Mrs Ambrose Thorp in Reese.
Mr Marion Kelly of Utica visited his sister-in-law Mrs Cecil Walker on Saturday afternoon.
Mr and Mrs B.E. Moore called on Mrs. J. H. Hunter Wednesday evening.
Mrs Loie Evans fell last lweek and was taken to the Cass City Hospital.
Mr and Mrs Alton Lyons visited with Mrs Mary Booth at the Tuscola County Nursing Home in Caro Saturday afternoon
Mr and Mrs Eugene Sutphen of Waterford were Sunday afternoon callers of his mother Mrs J. H. Hunter.
Mrs. Cecil Walker and Mr and Mrs Gordon Walker and Fred of Caro enjoyed Sunday dinner with Mrs Mary McAlpine.

TO GRADUATE

A Graduation Exercise will be held at Murray Hall, Carol State Hospital, March 7th at 8:00 p.m. for Attendant Nurses. The speaker for the evening will be Dr. Willard W. Dickerson, Medical Superintendent of Caro State Hospital.

Dora Van Horn is among the graduates from this area who has satisfactorily completed the Michigan Department of Mental Health approved course of instruction for Attendant Nurses under the direction or Mrs Fred Campbell, R.N.

Trip to Russia Will Be Shared

The Pilgrim Holiness Church announces that Mr Eldon Berden of Snover, Michigan will be speaking and showing slides taken on his trip to Russia and other countries.

Mr Berden accompanied a group on the Russian trip that was sent under the People to People program of the United States Government. He will be telling of life and worship (or lack of it) in Russia today.

Mr Berden will be speaking on March 5, 1967 at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

METHODIST CHURCH

The Commission on Education of the Kingston Methodist Church plans a Family Night Supper, Thursday, March 23rd, at 7 p.m. Meat, potatoes, rolls, and coffee will be furnished. Bring a dish to pass. Mr. Richard Wynn will be the guest speaker. He will share his trip and show slides of the Phillipines, Singapore, Naples, India and the Holy Land.

PTA

The February meeting of the Kingston P.T.A. took place on Monday, February 13th. The secretarys report was read and approved. The treasurer report a balance of $170.00.

Mrs Robinsons 2nd and 3rd grade won the room award for January.

The meeting was turned over to Mrs Janis Hubbard who introduced Mr Ron Prefontain who gave a very interesting talk on the Special Education Program in Tuscola County. He also discussed the types and some of the causes of retardation.

Lunch was served.

Announced Engagement

Planning to marry June 17 are Teresa Kosowski and Philip Bieszczak.

Their engagement was announced by the parents of the future bride Mr and Mrs Stanislaw Kosowski of Detroit. She is a graduate of St Hedwig High School in Detroit.

Her finance, who is the son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Bieszczak of Kingston, is a graduate of Kingston High School.

Both are employed in Detroit.

I would like to thank our friends and relatives for their kindness at the time of my mother’s illness and death. To Rev. Beird for his comforting words and for the cards, calls, food and floral pieces which we received.

NOTICE

Owners of dogs in the Kingston area are reminded that village ordinance requires that ALL dogs within the village be KEPT ON A LEASH, on the owners property.

Violations of this ordinance carries a fine and (or) imprisonment.

Several of the dogs running at large have been snarling and snapping at adults and children. This will no longer be tolerated.

Failure to comply with the existing ordinances will have to result in police action.

In the near future, owners will be required to show proof that their dogs have been rabies vaccinated and licensed.
