Double Ring Ceremony Miss Marilyn Devereaux, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Devereaux of Chesaning and Mr. Carl Michael Clement, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Clement of Kingston were united in marriage, May 8, 1968, at the Methodist Church in Chesaning at a candlelight service in the presence of the immediate family. The bride given in marriage by her father wore a white street length gown. Her bouquet was pink roses and white mums. Miss Betty Devereaux was bridesmaid for her sister. Mr. Thomas Clement was bestman for his brother. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Jacobs before an altar decorated with white lilies, mums and carnations. A wedding dinner at Rosss in Chesaning followed the ceremony. The young couple left for a short honeymoon in Northern Michigan. Those from here attending were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Clement, Roger Clement, and Mr. and Mrs. James Jersey.

SOCIAL NEWS Mr. and Mrs. C. H. French of Topeka, Indiana were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Hampshire. On Sunday they were joined by Mr. Ethel Seddon, and Bobby Grieve, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hampshire, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hampshire, and family of Cass City, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Moore and family of Caro, and Mr. and Mrs. William Harry Hoisington of Grosse Point for a pot luck dinner. Mothers day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moore and Mrs. Wiswell were Mrs. R. L. Dafoe of Warren and Mr. and Mrs. Emerson McIntyre and children of Owosso. Mrs. Louis F. Wenzlaff, Mrs. J. Wm. Curry, Mrs. Bruce Ruggles, Mrs. John Barden, Sr., Mrs. C. B. Schwaderer, Mrs. Hazel Wilmot, Mrs. Cecile Van Cleave, and Mrs. Leland Ensign attended the Annual Convention of the Tuscola County Federated Clubs held at Unionville May 9th. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Tong, Linda, Lydia, Lisa, and Wm. Tong were at their farm home Sunday. Mrs. Ruth Frost of Marlette was a Saturday caller at the Leo Legg home. Mr. James Coan visited his daughters in Pontiac for a few days last week. Curt Legg of MSU spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harland Legg. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Quiel and family, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Torongeau and family, Mr. and Mrs. Vallie Quiel and family of Taylor spent the weekend at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Torongeau. Mrs. Douglas Ensign and children called on her mother, Mrs. Everett Rich on Mothers Day. Mrs. Wally Wilmot of Royal Oak spent Saturday with Mrs. Hazel Wilmot. Miss Beverly Everett of Spring Arbor spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Everett. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Hasenzahl of Remus were also guests. Mrs. Hasenzahl was a roommate of Beverlys while in college. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Poissant and family and Mrs. Ann Poissant of Detroit and Miss Mary Rassette of Mt. Pleasant were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rassette. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Boyne of Leonard and Mrs. Hazel Wilmot were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Everett. Many from here attended the Open House at the Dom-Polski Hall in Caro, Sunday May 12, honoring Mr. and Mrs. John Wenta of Fostoria on their 25th wedding Anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Clare Burmeister, Mark Dawn and baby brother of Clawson were guests at the home of his uncle, John Burmeister, on Sunday. Recent guests were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Williams of Marlette, Mr. and Mrs B. J. Perry and their mother, Mrs. Gertrude Sherman of Caro. Paul Daily, Sn, is spending a few days with his family. He has been stationed at Midway Island for one year. Paul will report at Long Beach for sea duty on U.S.S. Berkeley June 16. Mrs Marie Goodwin of Royal Oak is visiting at the home of her brother Mr. and Mrs. Louis F. Wenzlaff.

COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS A regular meeting of the Kingston Common Council was called to order by President Edward Kaminski at 8:00 P.M. in the Council Room on May 6, 1968 with the following members present; Barrons, Cameron, Gettel, Mrs. Lalko and Peter The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The minutes of the special meeting were read and approved. The finance committee recommended the millage distribution as follows: |

Moved by Cameron, supported by Peter that we make application for one man to the Department of Social Services in Tuscola County in regards to the Work Relief Project. Ayes All, Nays-0, carried. Moved by Barrons, supported by Peter to accept the building permit of Evans & Beverly Teets to remodel the inside of his home and by Keneth Distelrath for the construction of his basement and mobile home. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. The following businessmen were in about the off street parking: William Traxler, John Burns, Walt Parrott, William Schwaderer, Walt Harmon, and Robert Peter. It was decided to have a special meeting for further discussion on May 20, 1968 at 7:30 P.M. in the school. Bills were referred to the Audit Committee. Moved by Gettel, supported by Barrons that the bills be allowed and orders drawn for same. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. The mail was read and placed on file. Moved by Mrs. Lalko, supported by Cameron that the Village Council Meetings be listed on the community calendar at a cost of $2.00. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. Moved by Gettel, supported by Barrons that Francis Peter attend the meeting on May 28, 1968 that the Michigan Water Resources Commission is holding. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. President Kaminiski appointed Ed Lewicki, Jane Anne Lalko and Robert Cameron to be in charge of the Memorial Day Program. Moved by Mrs. Lalko, supported by Barrons that we purchase a new tank for the fire truck. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. Moved by Gettel, supported by Mrs. Lalko that the meeting be adjourned.
