STUDY CLUB ENTERTAINS
Twenty-five members and guests of the Womens Study
Club enjoyed a 7 oclock supper at the Reimann Dairy Bar on Friday evening. Miss
Helen Harris entertained them by telling of her trip to Alaska this past summer and
showing the slides she took on the trip. |

Charter Member Honored
Four members of the Kingston Literary Club were honored
guests Thursday evening, April 27, 1967 when the Club celebrated its 25th
Anniversary.
Mrs Carlyle Everett, Mrs Sherwood Heineman, Mrs Lynn
Henderson, and Mrs Arvin Wingert, charter members were awarded 25 years pins. Honorary
members present were Mrs Francis Peters and Mrs Orrie Reimann.
Thirty-six members enjoyed dinner and a program at
Zenders Original Froom, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Arrangements for the occasion were
made by Eleanor Peter, Reeva Peter, Shirley Sullivan, and Jane Anne Lalko. |

Athlete Of The Week
Mike Clement, former student of Kingston Community School,
has been named as the Athlete of the Week at Chesaning High School.
Mike has participated in football and basketball and is
making an outstanding show on the track team this spring. This spring he has been in eight
meets and has not been defeated. In the low hurdles he is unbeaten with his best time
being 21.5. In the high hurdles hi is 15.9. He has a high jump of 5 feet 9 inches.
Mike is secretary of the Varsity Club. He plans on attending
CMU this fall.
Mike lives with his aunt and uncle, Mr and Mrs Dale Clement
in Chesaning. |

May 18, 1967, to raise money for the worlds fair.

Death Notices
EDWARD J. PAWLIK
Edward J. Pawlik, 67 of 344 Columbus, Caro, passed away
April 13, 1967 in the Veterans Hospital in Saginaw. He was born in Poland October 2, 1899.
He had been ill for 3 years.
Mr. Pawlik leaves two sisters Mrs Kay Dulac of Kingston and
Helen Paluszek of New York City, New York, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held April 15, at 11:00 a.m. from the
St. Michaels Church of Wilmot with Rev. Pilarski officiating. Burial was in the
Kingston Cemetery. |

Above B Average
One thousand eight Central Michigan University students have
been named to the Scholastic Honors List released this week by the dean of students for
the fall semester, 1966-1967.
To be named to the Honors List, a student must achieve a
"B" or better average for the semester.
Area students named on the CMU Scholastic Honors List
include Lynn Marie Bilicki, a freshman, daughter of Mr and Mrs Edward Bilicki. |

WHITE CREEK FLORAL CLUB
Monday evening, May 1st, , about 25 friends and
neighbors met at the White Creek Floral Club House to honor Jim Coan with a surprise
birthday party. The evening was spent playing cards and visiting.
A lunch was served with a beautiful cake baked and decorated
by Mrs Darling.
Jim was presented with a purse of money. |

Honored At Bridal Shower
Miss Sue Ann Kelley was an honored guest Wednesday, the 26th
of April at a bridal shower given at the home of Mrs Dennis Steele. Co-hostesses were
Susan Kelley, Pam LaFond, and Linda Long.
About 30 friends enjoyed the evening. After games were
played Sue Ann opened her many lovely gifts, and lunch was served.
Miss Kelley is the bride-elect of Mr Lee Chapel of Clifford.
A June wedding is planned. |

WARNINGS
The following rules apply to the dissemination of
information regarding severe weather conditions and other emergency situations.
WARNING SIGNAL - 2 MINUTE BLAST: ALL CLEAR SIGNAL: 3 SHORT
BLASTS
The Sheriffs Department and Station WKYO (1360) will
keep each other informed about the latest weather developments.
Each Fire Department when notified will in turn notify the
local School Superintendent, all Hospitals in the area and the large industrial complexes.
All departments will have 2 or 3 men report at fire halls to
stand by at radio equipment for calls from the Sheriffs office.
WKYO will come on the air for emergency use at anytime, day
or night.
The fire siren signal has been changed. For a fire the blast
will be a whaling sound until the truck leaves. |

Vocational Agriculture
The Tuscola Soil Conservation District held their annual
Land Judging Contest for the Future Farmers of America on Wednesday, April 19, 1967, on
the County Farm north of Caro.
Students from Kingston, Mayville, Akron-Fairgrove, Reese,
and Caro took part in the contest with a total of 41 FFA students participating. Each of
the schools was limited to a total of nine chapter members who could represent their own
school.
Kingston finished second in the contest with Tony
Cherniawski, Larry Clink, and Lyle Curry making the high scores. Lewis Harper is the
Kingston instructor.
Top scores in the entire district were may by John
Cherniawski, Caro, Tony Cheerniawski, Kingston and Larry Clink of Kingston.
Wilbur Kellogg and Kenneth Neeper, technicians of the U.S.
Soil Conservation Service assisted teh District Directors in the technical phases of the
contest. |

"Whats To Clean" |
| 1. Refuse |
Tin cans, debris, etc.,
littering yards or premises, public or private, is to be swept up and hauled to the
village dump. Special hours at which yard will be opened will be announced. |
| 2. Refuse |
Burnable trash will be
disposed of in the suitable trash burners by all residents. |
| 3. Debris |
Junked cars and/or
machinery will not be permitted to accumulate on premises within the village; this debris
is also to be hauled to the dump. |
| 4. Lawns |
Both private and those on
village center-of-way, shall be mowed and kept free of prominent weeds. The owners of
vacant lots shall be expected to make the appearance of this property acceptable. |
| 5. Occupants |
Of property within the
village will be responsible for abiding by the above listed stipulations. |

COMMUNITY CALENDER
Memorial Day Chicken Bar-B-Q, Tuesday, May 30th,
1967, Adults: $1.50, Children to 12 years; 75c In Multi-purpose room of school. Serving
from 12 noon until all are served.
The White Creek Flora Club will sponsor a card party
Saturday, May 6 at the Club House and there will be prizes and refreshments. Everyone is
welcome.
The White Creek Flora Club will meet with Mrs Darling on May
11 for dinner.
All tickets for the Mother-Daughter Banquet have been sold.
Anyone wishing to come to the program are invited to the Methodist Church at 8:15 p.m. on
Saturday, May 6, 1967. |

dates the "Awards Night" has been changed from May 3 to Tuesday , May 9th
from 7 to 9 p.m. |
