Kings Honored on 25th Anniversary The children of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. King held open house Saturday evening, May 4, 1968 at their parents home on S. Phillips Road, honoring their parents Silver Wedding Anniversary. A buffet supper of ham sandwiches, ice cream, cake, coffee & punch and featuring a three tiered wedding cake baked and decorated by their daughter, Doris. A very enjoyable evening was spent visiting with relatives, neighbors and friends. The evening being highlighted by a telephone call from California from Mrs. Kings college classmate, a couple that the Kings were bridesmaid and best man for almost 25 years ago, and havent seen for more than 24 years. Many fine gifts were displayed, one of which was a beautiful silver colored money tree with 25 one dollar bills for leaves which was added to other money received to buy a beautiful set of silverware. All the children were present except Ruth Ann and her husband of Frankfort, Germany.

SOCIAL NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Dale Clement and Mrs. Hazel Parker went to Tri-City Airport Sunday to meet Mrs. Cecile Van Cleave of Mobile, Alabama who is visiting her sister for a while. Mr. James Coan enjoyed Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Leo Legg. Mr. and Mrs. Foster Plane & Mrs. Robert Plane were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Marguerite Gardner of Mayville. Mrs. Fred Neal and Mrs. Geo. Westerby were business callers in Lapeer Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ensign of Marlette were Friday evening visitors at the Leland Ensign home. Russell Grieve, little son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grieve underwent open heart surgery at Ford Hospital, Detroit on Thursday. He is doing as well as can be expected at the present time. Mr. Verald Stokes is a patient n the Pigeon Hospital after being badly injured in a farm accident near Caseville, Thursday afternoon. Mr. Loftis Wiswell of Detroit, Mrs. R. L. Dafoe of Warren, Mrs Gerold Geror and Sherry of Pontiac, Mr. and Mrs. Emerson McIntyre and family of Owosso were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moore and Mrs. Wiswell. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Legg were Sunday evening callers of their sisters, Mrs. Hazel Parker and Mrs. Cecile Van Cleave. Mr. Roger Clement is a student at Delta College. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Rodenbo Johnny and Mary of Auburn Heights, Mrs. R. D. Green and children of Lake Orion were weekend guest of their parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal. Mrs. Edith Pigott of Marlette spent Tuesday and Wednesday with her son, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Schrader and daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Vernard Stark, Michael and Alisa and Rodney Kramer of Mt. Pleasant were weekend guests of their parents Mr. and Mr.s Marvin Kramer and Joy. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Schrader, Becky and Mary enjoyed an outing at the Hartwick Pines State Park Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Kremer of Pontiac were Saturday luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Legg. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Powell of Lum called on relatives here Monday. Mrs. Laura Smith of Jackson spent the weekend at her farm home here and called on friends. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ensign and family spent the weekend at the Ensign cabin and did some fishing in the northern part of the state. Mrs. Fred Neal spent Thursday with Mrs. John Richter in Saginaw. Monsignor Edmond Fournier, his mother Mrs. Jose Fournier and brother Raymond Founier of Walled Lake were Monday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rassette.
