Council Proceedings A regular meeing of the Kingston Common Council was called to order by President Edward Kaminski at 7:00 P.M. in the council room on November 6, 1967 with the following members present: Barrons, Harmon, Lewicki and Peter. Gettel arrived late. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Bills were referred to the Audit Committee. Moved by Harmon, supported by Lewicki that the bills be allowed and orders by drawn for same. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. Motioned by Harmon, seconded by Barrons that the Village advance to the treasurer 442.00 to balance the books for the unpaid tax of John and Betty Kloss and for the treasurer to take the necessary action to collect this tax and reimburse the village. Ayes All, Nays O, motioned carried. The Village Treasurer, Mildred Parrott, and the Village Attorney, William Drillock, discussed with the village council the unreturned personal taxes and the necessary action will be taken in regards to it. John Burns was present and inquired as to when the final approval will be made in regards to the Planning and Zoning reports that are being compiled. No definite date is know at this time. Moved by Lewicki, supported by Harmon that the building permits from James Caswell and Robert Kelley be accepted. Ayes All, Nays 0, motion carried. The Kingston Volunteer Fire Department has stated they will put up the Christmas Decorations in the Village some time after November 22, 1967. Moved by Gettel, supported by Harmon that we purchase 500 feet of 2½ inch hose for the fire truck, sign for rear of fire truck and three (3) helmets. Ayes all, Nays 0, motion carried. The following is a list of the regular fire department members: Don Barden, Dale Cummings, James Mallory, Arnold McLaughlin, Basil Simpson, Don Jeffrey, James Brief, Secretary Treasurer, Arvin Wingert, Frank Schobert, Ted Gilmore, Robert Phillips, Assistant Chief, R. J. Gilmore, Sherwood Heineman, Ivan Hunt; Chief, Leo (Gus) Heineman, Duane Gettel, Edward Lewicki, William Schwaderer, Harold Spencer, and Howard Berry. The following is a list of the auziliary members, Robert Peter, Art Warner, Robert Parker, and John Barden, Jr. Moved by Gettel, supported by Peter that the Clerk check into the Savings Certificates owned by the Village as to how many there are, date due, and the principal amounts of each. Ayes All, Navs O, motioned carried. Motioned by Lewicki, seconded by Barrons that we accept the contract with the State Highway Department on the purchase of the school signals to be constructed on M-46. Ayes All, Navs 0, motioned carried. Moved by Francis Peter, seconded by Duane Gettel that the following resolution be adopted: "The Village Council agrees to approvde the contract with the State Highway Department in the construction of two signs East and West of the Village of Kingston at the cost to the Village of Kingston of $843.00. There will be 100% maintenance by the State. There will be a $4.00 charge per month lease to General Telephone Company paid by the Village of Kingston." Motion carried with approval by Jim Barrons, Duane Gettel, Walt Harmon, Edward Lewicki, and Francis Peter. Moved by Barrons, seconded by Lewicki that meeting be ajourned. Carried.
