Death Notices Eldon Bruce, 63, Kingston Township, Tuscola County, operator of a U.S. mail Star route passed away Sunday, November 17 in the Hills and Dales General Hospital in Cass City. Mr. Bruce suffered a stroke Saturday while driving on Cemetery Road 1 mile east of Kingston. Son of the late Roland and Lottie Parks Bruce, born in 1905 in Novesta Township. He and Miss Lillian Ferguson were married June 24, 1927. Mr. Bruce was active in Township affairs. He was a former Justice of the Peace, Board of Review member and was the present Chairman of the Kingston Township Zoning Committee. Mr. Bruce is survived by his widow, four daughters, Mrs. Gerald Stilson, Caro; Mrs. Philip Goodall, Richland; Mrs. Howard Lyons, Walled Lake; and Mrs. Duane Thompson, Marlette; 17 grandchildren, two sisters Mrs. Myrtle Sangster, Lapeer, and Mrs. Clare Collins, Three Oaks, and a brother Jesse Bruce, Deford. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday November 20, at 2 p.m. in Novesta Church of Christ of which Mr. Bruce was a member. Rev. David Altman officiated with burial in the Novesta Cemetery. The body lay in state at the Littles Funeral Home in Cass City until Wednesday noon.

SOCIETY NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Allen Mike of Detroit spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Griswold and enjoyed some hunting. Mr. and Mrs. Thornton of Port Huron and Mrs. Hazel Wilmot spent the weekend with their sister Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bastedo in Mt. Morris. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Knight of Detroit called on Mr. and Mrs. Leland Ensign Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. James Caswell, Art and Alice Steele enjoyed the weekend at the Caswell cabin. They were joined on Friday by Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Steele, Tammy and Jim Froede. Mrs. Lesa Davis and children were recent dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons. Mr. Ivan Cooper of Lake Odessa and Mr. and Rene Shields of Koylton visited Mr. and Mrs. Leo Legg Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. George Parker, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Clement, Ronald and Roger Clement, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Parker, Sgt. and Mrs. Jay Parker, hank Bastian and John Lumbert of Horton were at the Parker cabin near Roscommon over the weekend enjoying hunting. Mrs. R. L. Dafoe of Warren spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moore and her other Mrs. Wiswell.
