Kingston Club Scouts

The Kingston Club Scouts are well under way now and having weekly den meetings. There are two dens with Pat Bruce as Den mother in Den No.1, and Janet Grieves as assistant. Beverly Mallory is Den Mother in Den No 2, with Liz Phillips to assist.

There is also a group of 10 year olds called the Webelos under the leadership of Doug Ensign and Dennis Steele. Cub master is Paul Megge.

The first pack meeting was Wednesday night, October 25, at the school with several boys receiving their Bobcat pin.

The theme for this month was "Westward Ho" for which the Cubs had an Indian War Dance around their totem poles.

If there are any boys aged 8, 9, 10 who haven’t joined as yet, they can do so by contacting a Den mother. Den meetings are every Wednesday night from 7 to 8.

Appointed Sentinel of Region 7 of F.F.A.

Gerald Stover, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stover of Kingston, who is vice president of Kingston F.F.A., was appointed to the office of Sentinel for the Region 7 District of Michigan Assn. Of FFA at the Region 7 meeting at the Gladwin High School, Gladwin, Michigan, on Saturday October 28.

The Regional officers are responsible for the Leadership Officers Training Camp on April 5 and 6 at the Methodist Shore Camp at Jeddo, Michigan.

The next Region 7 meeting is December 2 at Kingston, and the third meeting will be at Alma, Michigan. Tuscola County is District 3 or Region7 of Michigan Assn. Of FFA.

Officers for Region 7 are Pres. Roger Demings, Gladwin; V. Pres. Dave Owens, Midland; Sec. Roger Clark, Alma; Reporter, Paul Wangler, West Branch; Treas, Tom Putt, Bay City; and Sentinel, Gerald Stover, Kingston.

Engagement Announced

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jickling of Marton Rd, Kingston, announce the engagement of their daughter, Janet Marie, to Rodney Kramer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Marvin Kramer of S. Kingston Rd, Kingston.

Janet is a 1967 graduate of Marlette and is presently attending Saginaw Business Institute.

Rod is a 1967 graduate of Kingston and is attending Central Michigan University.

A June wedding is being planned.

PURELY LOCAL

Rev. and Mrs. Wm. Lyons of Pontiac and Mr. Eugene Sutphen of Waterford visited at the Alton Lyons home Thursday.

Mr. Guy Rassette of Detroit was a Monday guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rassette.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal were Saturday aftenoon and evening callers at the home of her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Warden of Lapeer.

Mrs. Cecil Walker enjoyed Sunday dinner with her son, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Walker.

Mrs. Bessie Sproule returned home Monday from Cass City Hospital.

Miss Mary Rassette of Mt. Pleasant spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rassette. Miss Donna Houghton spent Sunday with Mary.

Mr. and Mrs. James Lousberry Sr, of Lapeer, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Trim and children, Sheryl Lynn and Larry of Davidson were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis c. Harper and sons Sunday.

Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal were Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Green of Lake Orion. Mr. and Mrs. John Richter, Mr. and Mrs. John Rose of Saginaw and Mrs. Albert Denhoff and childrenof Kingston.

Mr. and Mrs. Vernard Stark and Michael Paula Lundberg. Doug and Rod Kramer of Mt. Pleasant spent the weekend at the Marvin Kramer home. On Sunday they were joined by Mrs. Ethel Lewis, Mrs. Lona Westfall and Mr. Ben Kramer of Flint and Janet Jickling.

Mrs. Renee Shields of Koylton is a patient at the St. Lukes Hospital in Saginaw.

Mr. Terrry Hudson of Marlette and Miss Judy Fleming of Decker visited with Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ensign and family and Mr. and Mrs. James Caswell Sunday afternoon.

Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moore and Mrs. Wiswell were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smith, Croswell; Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Wiswell, Darwin; and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wiswell of Sandusky; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wiswell, Bonnie, Paul and Richard of Snover; Mrs. R. L. Dafoe of Warren; Mr. Loftis Wiswell and Miss Louise Mercer of Detroit.

Mr. and Mrs. Leland Ensign spent a few days at their cottage near Gladwin.

Mr. and Mrs. Dean Jeffrey called on Mrs. Mattie Roberts and Mrs. Mabel Mathews in Marlette Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. McCutcheon in Lewiston. They called on Mr. and Mrs. Harry Scott in Standish Sunday afternoon on their way home.

Mrs. Douglas Ensign and children visited her mother, Mrs. Gladys Rich in Silverwood Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ensign of Marlette visited Mr. and Mrs. James Caswell Sunday.

On Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Eli Stout called on Mrs. Ethel Annin, Mrs. Mattie Roberts and Mrs. Walter Mathews of Marlette, and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Legg.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Molina and children of Wateford spent Sunday with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Delos Stoner. Mr. Stoner is still in the Medical Center in Caro.

Mr. and Mrs, Randall, Mr. and Mrs. Basil Randall and Mrs. Delos Stoner attended the reception for their Worthy Grand Matron, Blythe Parks, at Swartz Creek Saturday evening.

Mrs. Sylvia Dibble spent the weekend visiting her daughters and their families in Flint and Grand Rapids.
