Death Notices

Mrs. Harriet Ann Randall daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Powell was born in Capac, Michigan, September 11, 1883 and passed away October 31, 1968 in the Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital. She and Louis Randall were married September 10, 1949.

Mrs. Randall leaves to mourn her passing her husband, 4 daughters, Mrs. Susan Grey, Kingston; Mrs. Maybelle Grandeau, California, Mrs. Gladys Harriet Crittenden, Columbiaville, 2 sons, Chester Pelton, Pontiac, Harvey Pelton, Deford. 3 brothers Herbert Powell, Cass City, George Powell, Warren, and Wesley Powell, Cadillac. 5 step children, 26 grandchildren 60 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 4, 1968 at 2:00 P.M. from the Harmon Funeral Home with Rev. Verne Blankenburg officiating.

Burial was in Novesta cemetery.

Fatal Accident

An eleven year old Marlette boy was fatally injured about 11 p.m. Wednesday on Kingston Road south of Kingston when the truck in which he was riding, driven by his step-father, failed to negotiate a curve, rolled over & crashed.

The victim is George Donald Carbary, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Mucha, Harris Road, Marlette.

He was dean on arrival at Marlette Community Hospital from a broken neck.

His stepfather and another passenger, Robert Newcombe also of Marlette suffered serious injuries and were taken to Marlette Hospital.

The Tuscola County Sheriffs Department said Mucha lost control of his truck while driving north on Kingston Road at Centerline Road. The truck rolled over three times and landed right side up.

George was born July 10, 1957, in Mt Clemens and was the son of Mrs. Rose Marie Mucha and the late George Carbary Sr.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, a sister, Cynthia Carbary, two brothers Matthew and Michael Carbary, all at home, his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Method Sefeovic , West Palm Beach, Fla., Mr.and Mrs. George Carbary, Belair, Mich., and Mrs. Mary Mucha, Emmett.

Funeral services were held Saturday November 2 at 11 a.m. in St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Marlette, with Rev. Robert J. Duggan officiating. Burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Detroit.

Chapel Wedding

St. Mary’s Chapel , on the Central Michigan University Campus, was the setting for the marriage of Miss Christina Irene Schwaderer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schwaderer, Kingston to Mr. Jerome T. Fitzhenry, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Fitzhenry of Arlington Heights, Illinois. The Rev. Father Roger Dunigan officiated the ceremony at a 6:00 P.M. nuptial mass.

Miss Grace Parrott, close friend of the bride was matron of honor. Shelly Schwaderer, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid.

The grooms brother Jos. Fitzhenry, Illinois was best man.

James Dubovsky of Standish ushered at the chapel.

SOCIAL NEWS

Mr. and Mrs. Basil Noble of Bay City called on friends here Saturday. They also called on Mrs. Ethel Annin and Mrs. Dorothy Lee at the Memorial Wing of the Marlette Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lenahan and family of Detroit visited their parents Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rassette Sunday.

Mrs. Rodney Kramer of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Leo Legg, Mrs. Marvin Kramer, and Joy attended a bridal shower Sunday afternoon honoring Miss Karen Abbey, at the home of Mrs. James Dixon in Flint.

Mrs. Berneice Walker and Mrs. David Roby of Lapeer visited at the B. E. Moore home Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John D’Arcy.

Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Moore and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moore spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Emerson McIntyre and family in Owosso, then on to Battle Creek for Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wynn and children.

Mr. Austin Rossman of North Branch visited his sister Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ensign of Marlette and Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Hudson of Gladwin were Saturday visitors at the Leland Ensign home.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bilicki have moved into their new home recently completed to replace the one destroyed by fire.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal were Friday dinner guests of her sister Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Warden of Lapeer.

Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Tong and two daughters of Ferndale were Sunday callers of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Ensign.

Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons called on his mother Mrs. Mary Booth at the Medical Center in Caro, Saturday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Green and family of Lake Orion were Monday guests of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal.

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ensign and family spent the weekend at the Ensign cabin and enjoyed driving through the woods.

James Caswell attended the CMU football game with Art Steele Saturday.

Mrs. Laura Smith is spending some time at her farm home.

Mr. and Mrs. John Richter of Saginaw, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Rodenbo and family of Auburn Heights and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Denhoff and family called on their parents and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Grindley of Owosso visited with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Moore and Ellen on Wednesday.

Sgt. and Mrs. Frank Jay Parker spent the weekend in Jackson with friends.

COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS

A special meeting of the Kingston Common Council was called to order by President Edward Kaminski at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Room on October 28, 1968 with the following members present: Barrons, Cameron, Gettel, Mrs. Lalko, and Peter.

On October 28, 1968, by telephone conversation and verbal agreement B&B Asphalt Construction relinquished their rights to perform the paving job No. 1207 in Kingston, Michigan. This motion was moved by Mrs. Lalko, supported by Cameron. Ayes – All, Nays – 0, motion carried.

Moved by Gettel, supported by Barrons that we accept the verbal agreement from Strosburg & Sons to do the blacktop job in Kingston, Michigan at a ceiling price of $6,100.00. The work includes on block of Noble Street from River Street to Washington Street; 100 feet of patch work on Ross Street; and one half mile from M-46 to Village Limits on Ross Street, Ayes – All, Nays- 0, motion carried.

Moved by Gettel, supported by Peter to accept the building permit of James Brief to put aluminum siding on his home. Ayes – All, Nays – 0, motion carried.

Moved by Gettel, supported by Peter to accept the building permit of Robert Kelley to enclose his front porch. Ayes – All, Nays – 0, motion carried.

Moved by Barrons, supported by Mrs. Lalko that the meeting be adjourned.
