DEATH NOTICES

Mr. John Pohlod, Sr., 77, passed away at the Hills and Dales Hospital, Cass City, November 1, 1967, after an illness of one week. HE was born February 8, 1890 in Czechoslovakia. Mr. Pohlod came to the United States in 1908. He and Mary Kareha were married February 24, 1920 in Detroit. They have lived in this area since 1937.

Besides his wife Mary, he leaves on son, John Jr., of Kingston and 2 grandsons, Roger and Daniel.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m., from the Kingston Methodist Church with Rev. Sherman Beird officiating. Burial was in the Kingston Cemetery.

SOCIAL NEWS

Mr. and Mrs. James Caswell, Alice Steele and Joyce Barber were at their cabin in Smallwood Heights over the week end.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Schrader were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Maxam in Lansing.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Legg of Roscommon called on friends and relatives over the week end.

Mr. and Mrs. James McCabe and son of Lansing spent the week end with relatives here.

Mr. and Mrs. Forest Thornton of Port Huron were Sunday dinner guests of their niece and husban, Mr. and Mrs. James Barrons and boys.

Miss Becky and Mary Schrader were in Charlotte over the week end, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Suntkin.

Mrs. Raymond Moore and Wayne, Mrs. Stanley Moore and Ellen Marie attended the State Wide Zone Rally in Owosso, Saturday.

Rev. and Mrs. Wm. Lyons and family of Pontiac spent Thursday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Knight, sn Billy, Miss Nancy and Robin Cojacari of Detroit were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Ensign.

Mrs. Arnold Moore spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Emerson McIntyre and family in Owosso.

Mr. and Mrs. Tony Dora of White Cloud spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Torongeau.

Mr. and Mrs. Woody Mouser were weekend guests of her father, Mr. George Beech.

Mr and Mrs. Douglas Ensign and children spent the week end at the Ensign cabin.

Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons called on his mother, Mrs. Mary Booth at the Caro Medical Center.

Mrs. Cecil Walker, enjoyed Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Walker in Caro. In the afternoon they called on Mrs. Bessie Sproule, Mrs. Wilbur Traver and other friends in the Cass City Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Amber Jones enjoyed Sunday dinner with Mrs. Mary Warren in Caro.

Mr. and Mrs. John Burmeister were Friday callers at the Leo Legg home.

Lee Ensign of Marlette called on his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Ensign Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Glen Van Wagoner enjoyed Sunday dinner at Frankenmuth.

Mr. and Mrs. W. Burmeister, Larry, Robin, Connie, Terri, and James of Ludington were week end guests their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Burmeister. Other guests during the week wee Mrs. Catherine Stevens of Saginaw, Mr. Burmeister of Pensacola, Florida, and Mrs. Alice Hampshire.

Mr. and Mrs. James Jersey of Lansing and Roger Clement of C.M.U. spent the week end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Clement.

Mrs. George Trask and daughter of Oxford, the former Connie Wilkinson was a Thursday visitor of her grandmother, Mrs. Forest Wilmot. She also visited with Mrs. Emma Wilkerson in the afternoon.
