Kingston Class of 1923 Reunion Nine of the original eleven members of the 1923 graduation class held its third reunion Sunday, September 15, 1968. They attended the Wesleyan Church in a body. After service going to the school where a very delicious chicken and ham dinner was prepared and served by Leona and Lyle Henderson. Mr. L. B. McInally acting as Master of Ceremonies called upon each class member to tell of their children and grandchildren and anything else of interest. Guests of the class were Mr. and Mrs Melvin McInally of N. Branch. Mr. Ed. Froede and Mrs. Emma Wilkinson of Kingston, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Froede of Chula Vista, California & Mrs. Neva Zinnaker, Cass City, a former Kingston teacher. Mrs. Ruth Frost and a lady friend of Marlette called in the afternoon. Class members present were Mr.and Mrs. R. J. DeGrow, Dunedin, Florida; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Il B. McInally, Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Parson, Pontiac; Mr. and Mrs. lee Shaw, Lavonia; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wenzlaff and Mr. and Mrs. George Hampshire of Kingston. Miss Irma Neal and Mr. Ralph Congdon, deceased were the other two class members. A letter from Mr. Fred Sanborn, Largo, Florida was read expressing best wishes to each one. An invitation was extended to each on everyone, when and if they were ever in Florida in winter or Cheboygan in summer to call upon them. Mr. Sanborn was Superintendent of Kingston School in 1923. All expressed having a very enjoyable day and looking forward to the golden reunion in 1973.

| "Multi-Birthday Party" At
United Methodist Church
Thirty relatives and their families of the Rossmans and Waldies was celebrated on Sunday noon at the Dining room in the Kingston United Methodist Church. The honored guests enjoyed a hand decorated cake by Mrs. Don Darling of White Creek. It was made in the form of an "Open Book" with the names of August dates on one page, the other page had the September dates. Our oldest members were Mrs. Lillie B. Rossman who will be 89 years young on September 25, 1968 and Ward W. Waldie who was 70 years on September 4, 1968. Other honored guests were Roy Thompson of Marlette, Michigan, husband of Mae Teeple Waldie. The Dr. Norman Holloway dentist from Saginaw, his wife Shirley and four children were present. She (Shirley) is their daughter. Roy was 76 years on August 20th. Their other girl Mr. and Mrs. Al Brown and family of Saginaw were unable to attend because of sickness. Mr. Brown is with the State Farm Insurance Co. Mrs. Queena Waldie Perry of Pontiac was present with her son. Darril Perry and family a son & daughter from Birmingham, Michigan were detained, coming from Ohio. A second son, Arion Perry and family of three were not able to attend because of the Perry reunion at Battle Creek. Their home is at Clarkston, Michigan. Mrs. Lillie Rossmans family of Leslie and Ione Rossman and his family were present also Ward and Mae R. Waldies families were there. Mae was one of the August 23, dates, 66 years ago. Leslie and Iones daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harter (Nancy) and their little girl Wendy Jo, were present from Dansville, Mich. near Lansing. Sickness prevented Mr. and Mrs. Max Dafoe and their 5 children of Pontiac from attending. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Rossman of Saginaw were not present as Bob was on National Guard duty. Alice and George Hampshire of Kingston were among the guests. Mr. and Mrs. George Schnierle of Ann Arbor daughter Jane of Ward and Mae Wadlie were present. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald G. Hampshire and their three children attended. Ron is the oldest son of Alice and George Hampshire while his wife Floy is the oldest girl of Ward and Mae Waldie. Their second girl and family Edward and Donna Lick of Mt. Pleasant and three children were unable to attend because of sickness. Mr. Cliff Seeley of Miami, Fla and his sister, Josephine Seeley of Pontiac were among the honor guests. She took movies of the "Fortieth Wedding Anniversary" of Lillie and Frank Rossman in 1940. Walter C. Waldie, of Pontiac brother of Ward, brought his tape recorder and recorded the program. A solo by Kenneth Hampshire "How Great Thou Are" also Community singing by the group. Miss Blanche Meidlein of Pontiac was a guest.

Local and Social Ward and Mae Waldie of Gaylord arrived here Sunday and will be here until they leave for Mt. Dora, Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Don Legg and family and Brenda Nicol returned home from visiting relatives in Jefferson City and Kansas City, Mo. Mrs. R. L. Dafoe of Warren, Mr. and Mrs. Gerold Geror and Sherry of Pontiac, Mr.Loftis Wisell, Miss Louise Wercer of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Emerson McIntyre and children of Owosso attended a birthday dinner at the Arnold Moore home Sunday honoring their mother and grandmother Mrs. Wiswell. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neal visited Mr. and Mrs. Otto Duckwitz in Imlay City last week. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rassette spent Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Peter Rassette and children of Linwood. Mrs. Leah Wilson of Lake City brought her mother, Mrs. Etta Stoner to her home in Kingston Friday. Mrs. Stoner returned to Lake City with her for a longer time to recuperate after being in the hospital. Saturday they called on Doc Stoner at the Medical Center in Caro. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Moore and Linda Harneck took Wayne Moore and Ronald Barrons to Mt Pleasant, Sunday where the boys enrolled in college. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Legg and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Kramer and Joy were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs.Ven Stark and children of Saginaw. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rassette spent Thursday night with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Gendron in Flint, returning home Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Russell DeGrow of Dunedin, Florida were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Hampshire. Mrs. Pearl Silvernail, Mrs. Ralph Koppelberger, Mrs. B. E. Moore, Mrs. Arnold Moore and Mrs. Raymond Moore attended the State Prayer Band Convention of the World Gospel Mission at Kent City, Wednesday and Thursday.

Sgt Frank J. Parker and Miss Sandra Lee Williams were united in marriage August 23, 1968 in St. Gregory Church, Phoenix, Arizona. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. George Parker, Kingston, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. A. Williams, Phoenix, Ariz. The newlyweds are residing at 5945 West La Mar Street, Glendale, Arizona.

PURELY LOCAL Mr. and Mrs. John Lumbert son Joey of Horton spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. George Parker and family. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Davis of Corunna and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hampshire had dinner at the Hotel Montague Friday eve, celebrating Mrs. Daviss and Rons birthdays. Mr. and Mrs. James Caswell spent the weekend at their cabin. Mrs. Roy Browning returned home Thursday from Caro Community Hospital and is recovering at home. Mrs. Laura Smith of Jackson called on relatives and friends this past week. Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lyons called on his mother Mrs. Mary Booth at the Tuscola Medical Center, Caro, Sunday. Dawn and Jeff Rich of Silverwood visited their cousins, the Douglas Ensign children over the weekend. Marilyn Simmons of Elkhart, Ind., visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Velda Simmons over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Weeks of Mishawaka, Ind., were Friday and Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Foster Plane and Bob. On Sunday all went to Westland to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Koppelberger and family. Bob who has been on a 14 day furlough returned to Ft. Florence, South Carolina, enroute to Panama Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Basil Noble of Bay City called on Mrs. Ethel Annin and Mrs. Dorothy Lee at the Memorial Wing of the Marlette Hospital Thursday. They also called on relatives here.
