4-H NEWS The Sept. 20, 1967 meeting of the Wells Jolly Workers 4-H Club was held at the home of Mary Ann Wilkinson. The meeting was brought to order by substitute President Lawanda Curry. Flag pledges were led by Brenda Curry and Boyd Moore. Roll call and treasurers report were heard. The first order of business was officer elections. The following were elected: Vice President, Jim Harper, Treasurer, Rhonda Ollila, Secretary, Jacqueline Weber, Enrollments and related matters were discussed. Rhonda Ollila made a motion to comply with the presidents call for adjournment. Jim Harper seconded it. Mary Ann Wilkinson, Reporter.

5 Day Canoe Trip Mike Boyle, Dennis Nelson, Ted Roberson, and David Roberson spent a leisurely five days canoeing down the Rifle River from White Ash Bridge out to Saginaw Bay. They all had a good time but were pleased to get home to their mothers cooking and their own beds.

Those missed last week that are attending college are Helen Szpunar, Eastern Michigan, Elaine Wolak, Ron Lemanski, Jake Richter, Bill Walkiewicz, and Dennis Koehler, Michigan State. Sharon Galubenski is attending CMU instead of Mich. State as reported last week.

OBITUARIES Shane KoehlerGary DuShane Koehler, son of Mr and Mrs. Gary Koehler, was born Dec 2, 1958. He passed away Sept. 21, 1967 at University Hospital, Ann Arbor, after a short illness. Besides his parents he leaves a sister Roxanne and brother Jason; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wenzlaff of Kingston and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Koehler of Clifford. Shane was at the Harmon Funeral Home until 1:00 Saturday, then was taken to the Methodist Church were the services were held at 2. Rev. Sherman Beird officiating. Burial was in the Kingston Cemetery. John Kapral was born in Nov 21, 1885 in Czechoslovakia and died Sept 22, 1967 in Caro Community Hospital at the age of 81 years. Mr. Kapral was a resident of this community since 1952. He and Sophia Cressandra were married in Pittsburg, Nov 14, 1921. He was a retired machinist from Packard Motor Company. Surviving are his wife, Sophia, 11 daughters, Mrs. Sue Newmarch, Caro; Mrs. Mary Kotsch, Detroit; Mrs. Rose Ober, Los Angeles; Mrs. Theresa Oliver, Detroit; Mrs. Helen Skotarczky, Warren; Mrs. Sophia Cook, Toledo, Ohio; Mrs. Margaret Wenta, Fostoria; Mrs. Elizabeth Wolak of Kingston; Mrs Virginia Maskal, St. Clair Shores; Mrs. Irene Wittlaufer of Warren; Mr. Jo Ann Klemkowsky of Utica; one son Frank, Warren; a brother Joe Kapral, 40 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services were at 10:00 on Sept 25 at St. Michaels Church, Father Pilarski officiating and burial in the church cemetery. Arrangements were by the Harmon Funeral Home.

| Reunion
Sunday, Sept 24th, 67 member of the Dorrance family gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Caswell for the annual family reunion. Guests were present from Detroit, Ferndale, Pontiac, Drayton Plains, Clarkston, Reese, Beaverton, Cass City, Caro, Marlette, Gladwin, and Kingston. A pot luck dinner was served at noon, then visiting, horse shoes, football, and many games were played.

We wish to thank all who sent cards, flowers and gifts, and called on me while was in the hospital. A special thanks to Mr. Beatrice Pratt for her helping us when we needed it so badly. Thanks to the Eastern Stars and to Walter Harmon and Mr. and Mrs. Traver for their prayers and calls. Your kindness will always be remembered. Mrs. Etta Sanford and family.
