TEDDY PATTERSON DIES AFTER LENGTHY ILLNESS

from the Mexico Daily Ledger, December 31, 1910

Teddy Patterson, one of the best known dogs in Mexico, died late Friday afternoon after a lengthy illness. Teddy was eight years old last August and had been the property of Dr. and Mrs. A.M. Patterson. For the past year Teddy has been the charge of Mrs. A. R. Waterman, who is a devoted lover of all dumb animals.

Several years ago Col. J.T. Johnson lost a $5 bill and Teddy found it and carried the bill in his mouth to Dr. Patterson. With the death of Teddy, almost all of the old well-known dogs that live on the Square have disappeared. There are one or two, however, that are so old they will not last long.
