  • Frank C. Ellis, 88, of Sedgewickville, died Monday, July 15, 2002, at the family farm. He was born December 11, 1913, in Lithium, Missouri, the son of Walter and Cora (Conrad) Ellis. Frank married Jewell Bollinger October 2, 1937. She survives.

    Preceding Mr. Ellis in death were a grandson, Tony Ellis; three brothers; and one sister.

    Survivors include son Jerry Ellis of Sedgewickville; sister Esther Michaud of St. Louis; step-sister Frances Statler of Ste. Genevieve; four grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

    Visitation will be after 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton and after 9 a.m., Thursday, at the Sedgewickville United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, at the church with the Rev. James Brice and the Rev. Howard Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery near Sedgewickville.

    One of the true patriarchs of Southeast Missouri, Frank C. Ellis, died Monday, July 15, 2002, at his Sedgewickville home.

    Ellis was 88 years old.

    Mr. Ellis served as State Representative in the Missouri legislature for 26 years. He represented Madison and Bollinger Counties in the Missouri House.

    Mr. Ellis was also on the Black River Electric Cooperative Board of Directors for 32 years and served on many committees. He was past president of the Patton-Sedgewickville School Board, the Bollinger County Health Board, and F.H.A. Loan Board. He was a Charter member of the Patton Lions Club. Mr. Ellis was an active member of the Sedgewickville United Methodist Church where he served in the United Methodist District Office.

    Frank and his wife Jewell (Bollinger) lived on the family farm in Bollinger County, but were frequent visitors to Madison County.
