  • Sandford Hawn/Hahn
    January 19, 1905,
    Marble Hill Press,
    Marble Hill, MO

  • Died near Marquand January 9, 1905, Sandford, only son of Samuel and Mary Hawn, aged 24 years, 6 months and 9 days.

He united with the Missionery Baptist Church early in life.

On August 3, 1902, he was united in marriage to Bertha Limbaugh, soon after union in marriage they moved to his farm near his father's home.

Here two happy years were spent.

During the time, one baby boy was given to them. Soon his health began to fail; then he and his family went to Colorado to spend the summer with her parents.

His health seemingly improved, they remained there till Christmas when they returned home to spend the holidays.

On the following day after his return, he was taken sick with congestion of the stomach and for 12 days he suffered severe pain but bore it very patiently.

On the last day he called his relatives around him and told them that he could but stay here a short time, but he wanted them to raise his little son to live a religlious life, then he said, "I see that beautiful home", and smiled away into eternity, to join two sisters and one brother who had gone before, leaving father, mother, wife, babe and six sisters with a host of friends to mourn their loss.

    Clara Walker.
