- Florine Nelson, 77, of Milwaukie, formerly of Newport, (Lincoln Co., OR) died Dec. 16, 2002.
She was born April 10, 1925 in Pasadena, Calif.
She was married to Dean "Smoky" Nelson, who preceded her in death in 1997.
She was a homemaker and also held a variety of jobs, mostly in the food service industry.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Newport and Oregon City, (Oregon) and was a volunteer with the Loaves and Fishes program.
She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Big Bear Lake, Calif.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and cooking.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Delbert Clowes of LeBec, Calif., Charles and Gloria Clowes of Marble Hill, Mo., (Bollinger County, MO) Ron and Jackie Clowes of Bakersfield, Calif., Eldon and Mary Anne Clowes of Gleneden Beach, (Lincoln Co., OR) and Robert and Jean Darting of Toledo, Wash.; daughters and son-in-law Charlene Clowes of Las Vegas, Nev., Jeanne and Leo Woodfin of Milwaukie, Wendy Darting of Milwaukie, Gee Gee Cheeks of Longmont, Colo., and Colleen and Dan Miller of Nampa, Idaho; two sisters, Mary Virginia Richards of Fairbanks, Alaska and Edith Marie Hallen of Glendale, Calif.; 30 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Darting in January 1970; a daughter, Bobbi Darting Crescenzi in October 1992; and two brothers, Raymond Chirby and Delbert Robinson.
A memorial service was held Dec. 18 in Oregon City.
Interment was at Eureka Cemetery in Newport. (Lincoln Co., OR)
