- Alpha O. Ricketts, 104, of Marble Hill (Bollinger Co.) died Monday, June 9, 2003, at Elder Care of Marble Hill.
She was born Feb. 11, 1899, in Lutesville to the late Edward and Julia (Shenimann) Reck. She and Chauncey Ricketts were married March 8, 1922, in Lutesville, and he preceded her in death.
Ricketts was a homemaker and member of First Presbyterian church of Marble Hill.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan Williams of Rolla, Mo.; a son-in-law, Bryan Welch of Tazewell, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother; three sisters; three daughters, Naomi O'Donnell, Wanda Chandler and Jean Welch; a son, Harold "Buster" Ricketts; a grandson, Michael O'Donnell; a great-grandson, Austin Chandler; and a step-son, Arden Ricketts.
Visitation will be Thursday after 11 a.m. at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Nancy Gillard officiating.
Interment will be in Baker Cemetery.
