    Name: Jo Wilson <JodyWils@aol.com>
    Date: 2003-05-14
    Surnames:(in capital letters only) BESS/BEST
    Comments:
Martin and Ruth BESS/BEST came to Bolllinger Co., then old Cape Girardeau Co., about 1824. With them were children, George, Daniel, Arilla, and Jane. Was there a daughter Sarah? There were other children, possibly older, who were left in NC, or did they with their spouses come to Bollinger Co., also? Martin and Ruth were said to have had 11 children. I would like to identify any others possible. Thank you. Jo Wilson (descends from Daniel)

    Name: Judith K. Arthur <jkarthur@aol.com>
    Date: 2003-05-09
Surnames:(in capital letters only) COKER, SNIDER, ANGELLY
    Comments:
George W. Coker, his wife, Sarah W., his children, Martha, Eliza, Mariette, and Joseph were listed on the census in Bollinger County in 1860. They were in Cape Girardeau County in 1850. By 1870, they were in Clinton County, IL. There are many Cokers who lived in this Bollinger County area and they all appear to be related. The family came to Missouri from Tennessee. Other family connections were the Snider family. Martha Coker married Marshall Snider of Bollinger County and they had twin boys, William and Washington before Marshall Snider died in 1860. She then married Martin Angelly.
I would appreciate any help with this family.

    Comments:
I am looking for any information on William Brewer born abt 1874 (Ohio?) and Salina J. McCray Leonard born about 1864 (Missouri). I have the marriage license of William and Salina; they were married in Bollinger County in 1892 and had three children; Hatti T. born 1893 (Bollinger County, MO), Arthur born 1895 (Bollinger County, MO)and Iva A. born 1905 (Bollinger County or Montgomery County, MO). Also born to Salina (in a previous marriage) and Jasper N. Leonard was Riley Harrison Leonard. I have a piece from a newspaper that states Jasper died in 1891, Bollinger County, MO. I have no information on either of the families prior to 1900 other than Salina McCray in the home of Samuel Newell in 1880 Bollinger County, MO census at the age of 15. If anyone has any information or can give me a direction to go in, please contact me at kjpcestes@sbcglobal.net.
