    Name: Julie Gerren <BlueGoose6@aol.com>
    Date: 2003-01-17
Surnames:(in capital letters only) Gerren, Geren, Garin, Gerin, Gerrin, Gearen and on and on.
    Comments:
I am researching the Gerren name in
Missouri. John Gerren was James Geren's brother. It seems they both arrived
in Missouri in 1879 or 1880. I cannot locate any of the Gerren's in the 1880
census in Barry County exce[t for two of the children, John Gerren (son) and
Walter Gerren, who shows up in Greene County; as I could not find any info on
what happened to the other Gerren's, I thought I would start with his
brother James. The hard part is the name is spelled in forty different ways
and it is hard to find all of them. They seemed to have disappeared after
1880 and do not show up in any other census. I do not think the whole family
died at one time although I am beginning to wonder but they do not show up in
any deaths/cemeteries that I have found so far.

    Thanks for the help.
