| SURNAMES: | WILLIAM R ELLIS |
| Comments: | William R. ELLIS is my Ggrandfather. He killed himself between the 1920 and 1930 Census taking on or after age 67 due to rheumatoid arthritis. I would love to have any information at all. I think he had a daughter named Minnie, who had a son named William Turlington and I think his wife was Gertie. He may have been married to a Dealy (Delia) Ann Jones and had a child with her named Mary Jane Ellis. Dunklin and Stoddard Counties are my interests. I believe William mostly lived in the Clarkton area, was born between 1852 and 1858. He died in Clarkton or Freeborn Twnsp. I do not know where he is buried or anything further, except he was once married to Sarah Ann Fox, my Ggrandmother and their son is John Henry Ellis, who later changed his name to John Henry Clifton. Thanks if you can help at all!!! |

| SURNAMES: | BENTON, SIKES, WOOTEN, BUSBY |
| Comments: | I am trying to find the maiden name of a woman named Elizabeth, sometimes called Betty or Betty Helen, who was married to a James Wooten ca. 1903. James and Elizabeth Wooten were living in Dunklin Co. in 1910. Two of her children by previous marriages were living with them, Thomas Sikes and Hurley Benton. After James died, she married a Busby. In 1920, she is widowed and living in Poinsett Co., AR with a Hayden family that is also from MO. Elizabeth herself was born in TX in 1865 and was Native American, allegedly Cherokee. (I've seen a photo, and there is no doubt about her Native heritage.) Her parents were from TN. The Sikes and Benton husbands were both from MO, and the two children mentioned were also born in MO. Thomas later moved to OK. If these rings a bell with any of you who are researching these surnames, please let me know. |
