Date: 2005-01-09
SURNAMES: BRANUM BRANNUM BRANHAM
Comments:
Searching for parents of Andrew Jones Brannum (surname may be list as Brannum, Branum or Branham). He was born July 15, 1863, died January 25, 1896 and married Annie L Hendirx on September 20, 1888. His father is susposed to have been buried at old (Marsh?) Cemetary across (East) from Kennett Memorial. Should have (W.O.W.) Woodmen of the World insignia on stone. Died during or immediately after the conclusion of the Civil War after being ambushed by Quantrill's men while on his way home near Buffalo Creek (East of Hornersville?). His oldest grandson (before he died) stated he was in the Confederate Cavalry, but he may have had Union allegience, since Quatrill's Raiders were Confederate guerillas. I greatly appreciate any information that may be provided.

SURNAMES: DOWDY
Comments:
Hi Everyone,
I was told by a family member that my gggrandfather may be buried at STEVENS CHAPEL CEMETERY in DUNKLIN COUNTY. I believe it is located just north of MALDEN.

My question is would anyone happen to have a list of burials for this cemetery?

I have been unable to find a listing anywhere.
My gggrandfather was JOSEPH DOWDY and I think he may have died about 1894. He was married to MARTHA TAYLOR.

If anyone could help me out with this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks & have a great day.
Angie

Seeking info. on Cyrus Worth Neff family, who were in MO from abt. 1885 - 1900. Wife was Doviah Emma (Brown) Neff. Children included Johnson F.,b. 1884 Frank C., b. 1889, Hugh B., b. 1891. May have lived around Buffalo Township, or in Butler County near White River of Poplar Bluff. CW may have been a lawman in 1889. Old news clipping from February 1889 announcement of Frank Cyrus Neff's birth said that his father, CW Neff, was a policeman. I am just not sure where or what paper it came from. In 1900 census, they were in Buffalo township, for sure. Are there any Neff burials around there from that time? Any reocrds of law officers? Can you help?
