| SURNAMES: | PRUITT, PREWETT, SINGLETON, SWILLS, RICHARDSON |
| Comments: | I am looking for L.M. Pruitt/Prewett born in KY possibly May, 1865. Moved to Missouri with Family. Married first to Fannie B Turpin Oct 12, 1890 in Dunklin County. Married second to Maudie M. Swills (a widow) in Stoddard County on the 8th of August 1897. Had one son John A. Pruitt/Prewett 1990.I have these marriage license. Then married my grandmother Ada Samantha Singleton (of Clarkston)on Oct 12, 1903. Ada and L.M. had one son Lola Richardson Pruitt (my dad)Born in Bernie, Mo.Dad attended Pee Dee Elementary school. Later my dad changed his own name to Richard Pruitt.I am thinking maybe "Richardson" might have been a maiden name of a grandparent. L.M. Pruitt/Prewett was suppose to have died in Dunklin or Stoddard County or just disappeared around the year my dad was born 1905. Besides one census report dated 1900 vol.108, ED 126 page 13 line 15 , L.M. Pruit (spelling with only one T) list his wife M.M. and son J.A. This census also lists another Pruitt family Joseph and Julia with children James, Frank, Aney, and Peter. I figure they are probably related to L.M. Pruit in some way. But this is all I can find on my grandfather and I have been searching 4 yrs. My dad is deceased and couldn't ever find his brother John A. Pruitt though he searched when ever he could when he was alive. Any info would be much appreciated. I am at a dead end. |
