| Comments: | I am trying to track my g-g-grandfather, John Benjamin LUCAS. He is listed in Dunklin County in the 1850 census with his wife, Catherine, and two sons, Thomas and James. James(my g-g-grandfather) was born in MO; the others in TN. Catherine's parents came to MO and brought the boys back to TN and reared them- they are listed with them in 1860. I do not know what happened to Catherine. When Tommy and Jim were grown, they returned to MO to look up their father. They brought back a half-sister, Doshey?(Docia?) who lived the rest of her life with their families. I have not been able to track John Benjamin since 1850. He may have altered his name, but ,if the boys could find him, I think he must have kept the surname. The next door neighbor was a Wiley Clarkston family. I believe they were close friends. I'd also like to trace them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!! |
