| Comments: | I am looking for information on any one you see here. Cliff Poe was a sheriff and lived in Hornersville in the early 1900s. He was married to a Margaret Briggans. Margaret had been married before to a Tom Clifton. Mr. Poe was her second marriage I believe. Margaret and Tom had a son named Grover Marion Clifton and a son named Amos Neal Clifton. I don't know if they had any other children. Amos was born Sept. 12, 1896 0r 1898. I believe Grover was born in 1890. Grover married my grandmother Sue Duke Smith born Mar. 21, 1892. Her parents were Edward Smith and Annie Ramsey. Her siblings were Myrtle, Beunah, Florine, and Earl. If you have any information of anyone you see here please e mail me. | Comments: | My Great grand parents were Ben Hurse/ Elizabeth Merideth. My grand mother was Mary Elizabeth Hurse. She married Robert Henry Lentz in 1899 . They are in the 1900 census in Dunklin Co. Mo.Elisabeth Merideth Hurse and Ben Hurse both died in accidents in Dunklin Co. Probably around Malden. Ben died 1882/83 and Elizabeth 1892/93.Mary Elizabeth had a sister, Sarah Merideth Parrish.Maybe some of thdecendants of these folk are still in the area.Any information would be appreciated. | Comments: | I grew up in Clay County, AR in the Rector area. I recently found out that my Great Great Uncle Alexander W. Ellis was a sheriff in Dunklin County, MO in the late 1920's and early 1930's and I am trying to find out any information on him, plus he is supposed to be buried in a small cemetery near a place called White Oak, MO. I would appreciate any help I can get. He died between 1931 and 1933, we think. Thanks and God bless. I also know that his brother, Nathan Samuel Ellis and Nathan's wife, Gladys Massey Ellis is buried in MO. |
