SURNAMES: GATTIS, DUNN
Comments:
I am researching the family of Joseph B. Gattis. He was married to Mary during the 1880 census, but then was married to Emma in the 1900 census. Mary and Joseph had children and they do not show up as living with Joseph in 1900. Joseph and Emma went on to have five children. The oldest child (Nora)was my husband's grandmother. Also my husband's grandfather (Nora's husband) was Robert Dunn. I have nothing on the Dunn family, although they were married and lived for some time in Campbell and/or Kennett. They had one daughter (Wynona Christine) who was my husband's mother. They also had a son who died after birth. Anything I might receive on the Gattis family or the Dunn family would be greatly appreciated.

SURNAMES: MCCRACKEN, GOWEN/GOWEN, PATTERSON, ROSS, BURNES
Comments:
John L. McCracken, a widower with three children, Cynthia Elizabeth (Lizzie), Willis Machen and David W., moved to Dunklin County from Caldwell County, KY in the early 1880s. Daughter Lizzie was married to Harry Ross 5 Apr 1883 in Kennett, son Willis Machen McCracken married Eudora (Dora) Gowen 22 Apr 1983 in Kennett and son David. W. McCracken married Ida Bell Burnes 2 Aug 1896 Kennett. John L. was remarried 8 Oct 1888 in Malden to P. A. Patterson.

I cannot locate John L. and wife after the date of their marriage although I strongly suspect they remained in the county.

Willis and Eudora had three children, Chester Roland, a son Odie and a son Bernie. According to my grandfather, Eudora, his mother, shot herself about 1897. Odie and Bernie may have died at about the same time. Willis Machen McCracken was remarried to an Annie Lebo who had two sons Lewis and Harry, place and date unknown.

I would like to correspond with anyone having any knowledge of any of these people. I am especially interested in locating any newspaper or other account of Eudora's death.
