HUSBAND: James DEMINT BORN: 1817 IN MARRIAGE: Elmira (maiden name unk) OTHER MARRIAGES: Martha Mosier Glover in 1865 MILITARY SERVICE: unk DIED: aft 1865 FATHER'S NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH: unk MOTHER'S NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH:unk NOTES: James DEMINT was born in Indiana but moved to Illinois before moving to Dunklin county (Hopkins) in 1860; his son Billie was hung in 1863 by Confederate guerrillas on Crowley's Ridge and this story has become a legend over the years; James later remarried Martha Mosier Glover and in 1866 they had a daughter, Alice J., born near Campbell. James and Martha were my Gr Gr Grandparents. .............................................................. CHILD 1: William (Billie) SEX: M BORN: 1846 IL MARRIAGE: none OTHER MARRIAGES: MILITARY SERVICE: none DIED:1863 MO NOTES: Billie was hung on Crowley's Ridge in 1863 at age 17 by 3 Confederate guerillas supposedly because he wouldn't tell them where his father was; James may have been a wealthy man and this may have been over money; Billie is buried at the spot he died and his story has become a legend over the years. Billie's father James remarried in 1865 and through this marriage Billie was my (half) Gr Gr Uncle .............................................................. CHILD 2: Amanda M.
