AMELUNG DITTMER I found a listing in the LDS records for a Bernhardine Christine AMELUNG born about 1784 in Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hessen. It has listed Rel: August A. DITTMER. I know that DITTMER is a common name for Ironton/Pilot Knob as I've seen it quite alot in tracing the AMELUNG's there. I'm wondering if anyone tracing the DITTMER name has run across any AMELUNG connections. E-Mail: marcine.lohman@frucon.com or 509 Kehrs Mill Road, Ballwin, MO 63011-3231

I am searching for any information you can provide on the family of James Monroe and Margaret Johnston. They apparently moved to your area, Dent County, in the early 1870's. We know they were in Jefferson County, West Virginia, during the 1870 census. All thirteen of their children were born in either Dent, Iron or Reynolds Counties. I am especially interested in finding any information on James Monroe's mother, Annie, who lived with them, or her husband, David. i know that she died in 1901. I have written to the Bureau of Vital record for information. Thank you.

Seeking info re Henry MCANINCH (aka MCANICH), who was a Hotel Keeper in Ironton City, Iron County, Missouri, in the 1860 Census. Henry MCANINCH, born about 1801, (?Armstrong County?), Pennsylvania, and his wife Elizabeth (?BOWSER?) MCANINCH, had five (known) children, and ran a hotel in Ironton City, in 1860, before the Civil War. After the Civil War, there is no trace of Henry or Elizabeth MCANINCH, and four of the children are in Iowa -Nelson MCANINCH, Peter MCANINCH, George MCANINCH, and (probably) Nancy McANINCH, who may have married Orville Kimton CURRENT. There are no MCANINCH's in Iron County in the 1870 Census. Would like any/all information available about these subjects: 1. the Hotel that Henry MCANINCH ran in 1860, who owned it, and what happened to it during/after the Civil War; 2. did Henry and Elizabeth MCANINCH come to Iron County, Missouri, through any connections to the Steel industry in western Pennsylvania ? (other MCANINCH's were associated with Steel in the Pittsburgh area); 3. the fates, dates, and burial places for Henry MCANINCH and his wife Elizabeth MCANINCH; and 4. what happened to their other child, daughter Susan MCANINCH, born circa 1843, (probably Armstrong County), Pennsylvania ? Thank you. Frank McAninch, Huntington Beach, California.
