LA Ruddle and Miss Lillie Glover were married December 30th and Olive Dunn and Miss Sallie Christ on Jan 2d, Rev. Cooksey officiating.

Hayward happenings
Died on Friday last at Hayward., Mrs. Sallie Bethel wife of J. S. Bethel. She suffered about 7 weeks with consumption of the bowels. She leaves a small babe, husband, one brother and one sister.

Mr. Hugh’s child died last week after an illness of several weeks. This is the first death in Mr. H’s large family.

Cravens, George B., died at his residence, three miles west from town. Monday night, JAN 10TH after an illness of a week with pneumonia, aged about 38.

Bauers, Mrs, Wife of E. T. Bauers, died at her residence near three States u night Jan 11t.

Estate of R. H. Hunter, creditors (Philip Raidt) suing estate to order sale of property.

Charles Jones was up from Tiptonville this week.

J. P. Wadridge Kills Robt Logos at Malden.

The little child of M&M Henry Kline died at the family residence Thursday Dec 30, 1897. The remains were taken to Gray’s Ridge Fri for internment.

Clinton H. Cunningham and Miss Nannie B. McClannahan two of Caruthersville’s popular young people were married Jan 2d.

Mrs. James B. Hardin died at Kennett Jan 1st being burned by falling on a red-hot stove, and her clothing catching fire. She had an epileptic convulsion and fell on the stove.

Dr. Felix Allen of Benton, died from Blood poisoning at St. Louis, Christmas Day. He scratched a finger with a pin while rebandaging a railroad employee’s arm that was afflicted the blood poison. No attention was given the scratch, but in a few days blood poison set in with the result as stated.
