Samuel A. Waters died at 9 oclock Wed morning Dec 21 after an illness of only four days, the victim of pneumonia. Deceased was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. L. A . Waters , deceased and was 51 years old the day before his death. He was married to May Watson, Nov 8, 1879 from which union were born seven children, five of whom are living, Richard W., Mary L., Genevieve, Feffall and Sarah. His wife died May 11, 1890, leaving him to the rearing of the little ones and how tenderly, lovingly and judiciously he filed the dual position of mother and father is well known. His children are a living monument to his innate goodness of soul which he so effectively installed into them. Surviving him are two brothers, W. W. and Jno M. and three sisters, Mrs Godfrey LeSieur, Mrs. R. H. Allen, and Mrs. L. C. Phillips. Richard, his oldest son has been studiously and assiduously applying himself at business college and now holds a position which enables him to care for his brothers and sisters. He is an exemplary young man and is in every way equal to the charge left him.

Funeral services over the remains of Samuel A. Waters, who departed this life Wed. Dec 21 1898 at 9:30 am, will be held at 10 oclock am Friday Dec 23 at the Catholic church after which the body will be interred at the family burying ground. Friends of the family are invited to attend.

Daniel Lorah, aged 63 years, for a long time past a resident of the Ferrenburg neighborhood and a poor but honest man died Tuesday last, Dec 20th, of pneumonia.
