Kent-Eastwood. Monday eve last Dec 26th at the residence of Mr. And Mrs R. H. Allen at Malden, Rev. Father J. J. Furlong joined in marriage Miss Susie VeeVee Eastwood and Mr. T. Blake Kent. The bride is a granddaughter of the late Mr and Mrs. L. A. Waters and daughter of AF Eastwood of Tiptonville, Tenn. Mr. Kent is one of Maldens prominent young business men and has been holding an important position with the Allen Store Company.

Dalton-Miller. Dr. J. S. Dalton of this city was united in marriage on Christmas day to Miss Ella D Miller, at the residence of Mr and Mrs. F. M. Miller, the brides parents near Millersville in Cape Girardeau Co. Rev. H J Latour officiating. They arrived here at noon Tuesday and area pleasantly located at their residence.

Oda Rogers, a girl about 17 years of age, whose home is at Leansboro, Ill, died at Cape Girardeau Monday from morphine poisoning. She had been in the habit of using the drug and carelessly took an overdose.

Wm. St. Mary brother of Upton and Edward S.t. Mary, and a nephew of Joseph St. Mary Sr. died at the residence of John Sanders, Friday night, Dec 23d. He lived in West twp and was brought down three weeks ago. He was about 50 years of age. The remains were interred in the St Mary Graveyard Sunday.

Mr. And Mrs. J. W. Mayes of Morley, Mo, spent Xmas with their grandchildren Hume Mayes and Mrs. R. Hatcher. Mrs and Mrs Mayes celebrated their golden wedding two years ago and are hale and hearty old people at the age of 73 and 71 years.

Shapley Mellon, generally known as Shap Smith, who was born and raised in this county and a descendant of the early French settlers, died at the home of Oscar Bellon on the night of Dec 23d of pneumonia and was buried at the St. Mary Graveyard Saturday. He was about 55 years of age. He was unmarried.
