The widow of J. B. Townsend who died suddenly near here several weeks ago, has collected from the Ben Hur Order $1400 insurance. He had held the policy but two months before his death (Kennett Democrat) Robert M. Ginnaven and wife of Peoria ILL have recently moved to our city. Mr. G. is a tonsorial artist and assistant to Henry Ransburgh in his neat barber parlor.

Murray Phillips received a postal card from his son Murray yesterday evening, who is at Jefferson Barricks He writes that he has enlisted in Co. M 4th regiment of which Charley Barnes is first Lieutenant and that the regiment is expected to receive orders to go to Chickamauga next Tuesday. Col. Corby is in command of the regiment and Father W T. Sherman with rank of Captain is Chaplain.

Lieut. S. W. Barnes. S. S. Barnes received a letter from his son Charley, at Jefferson Barracks saying that he had been appointed First Lieut of Co. M. 4th Regiment of N. G. M. composed of Callaway county Boys. ....
